Use Facebook To Complete Your Oscar Pool

thumbnail icon: Use Facebook To Complete Your Oscar Pool

With the Academy Awards on Sunday, there are only a few more hours left to complete your office Oscar Pool forms! Can't hardly wait! Now, this year it definitely seems like there's a lock on a few of the categories, but if we know one thing about the Academy Awards it's that we NEVER know! Anything can happen. It's so crazy. (It's not crazy.) Between the sympathy vote, the honorary vote, and the social conscience vote there's hardly even any votes left for Academy Members to voice who they actually thought was the best. It's a popularity contest crossed with a crapshoot crossed with a pandering Hollywood marketing machine with its talent eyes blinded by cash.

So, if you're still having trouble making one of life's toughest and most important decisions, why not turn to the one true democratic marketplace of ideas? FACEBOOK. After the jump, a look at this year's nominees's Facebook Fan Pages as a totally super scientific way of determining which way to gamble on an outdated, intellectually corrupt awards ceremony that bears no reflection on quality, merit, or public opinion.

The nominees have been organized in descending order of popularity. The nominee with the most Facebook Fans will be this year's Overdog, and the nominee with the fewest Facebook Fans will be this year's Underdog. That's how things work, duh. You can't improve on a perfect system.

Flawless. It's weird that the Best Sound Mixing nominees don't have Facebook Fan Pages. Anyway, I hope you checked the box marked "Bet It All" on the form and took all your money out of the bank. You're going to be so rich! This wasn't a terrible idea because Facebook is weird and stupid at all!

Um, but also, who knew that Meryl Streep was the most popular woman on Facebook? She pwns! That's going to be her name now, in all her movies. Starring Meryl Pwns. Dame Meryl Pwns, Queen of Facebook. And you and her will live in a castle, because with your winnings from these incredible predictions you'll be able to buy a castle.

THA PEOPLE HAZ SPOKEN.
