A Note To The Producers Of The MTV Movie Awards: Stick To Room Raiders, Guys

thumbnail icon: A Note To The Producers Of The MTV Movie Awards: Stick To Room Raiders, Guys

This might be an obvious question, but what is the point of the MTV Movie Awards? MTV only has two shows anymore, NeXt and X-Factor, neither of which seem to be arbiters of critical integrity. I just don't see what qualifies them to say anything. About anything. Except the sadness of televised teenage romance. And if the argument is that it gives voice to MTV viewers about who they think should be recognized in entertainment, Nickelodeon already has The Kids' Choice Awards and FOX has The Teen Choice Awards. So I think if anything the youths get to speak their minds too much at this point.

Not to mention, if your awards show has nominated I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry for more than 0 categories, it's not an awards show, it's a hate crime. Also, congratulations to National Treasure: Book of Secrets for its BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR nomination. And Chris Brown's performance in This Christmas was definitely a breakthrough. He's going to have an uphill battle, though, going up against Megan Fox in Transformers. And I'm not even going to talk about the critical poverty that is the Best Summer Movie (So Far) category. Kill yourself, MTV. Full list of nominees after the jump.

I can't tell you how many sleepless nights I have had since watching Topher Grace's bone-chilling perfomance in Spider-Man 3. Truly the stuff o' nightmares.

Oh poor MTV, remember when you and Rolling Stone magazine had something to do with music and/or cultural relevance?

The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Kangaroo Jack

As a rule, a children's movie cannot be the Worst Movie of All Time. Make no mistake, children's movies are categorically horrible, with very few exceptions, and those exceptions tend to be children's movies that are mostly for adults, i.e....
