A video surfaced last night of Kate Gosselin of Jon And Kate Plus 8 denying her thirsty children water, and it’s already burning up the internet because everyone is loving feeling superior to this woman, but at this point Kate Gosselin basically has the same job as Spencer Pratt. They’re colleagues. Reality TV Villains should have a union:

On the one hand, if she gives one kid water they’ll all want water, but on the other, she gave herself water and, as the little girl says “drank it right in front of our face.” Also, how thirsty do those bioengineered little freebie machines need to be to be craving WATER? Kids hate water. Those kids almost died. (Via WarmingGlow.)

  1. I feel so fuckin bad for those kids. Seriously. I’m sorry kids, but your parents are TERRIBLE.

  2. John & Kate plus go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away GO AWAY GO AWAY GO AWAY GO AWAY GO AWAY GO AWAY GO AWAY please go away.

  3. In Kate’s defense, she needs a constant supply of water to keep her hair growing out the front of her head. Not unlike a chia pet.

  4. I agree with an American Patriot on this one. She’s the worst. My mom isn’t the greatest mom in the world, but first of all I know she’d tell us all to get a drink of water before we went on, and then when she asked “Can you throw me a water” she would have said “Can we get a couple of waters.” And if not, she would have let me sip from the bottle before she even did.

She’s the worst. Ever. Joe the Plumber and Carrie Prejean are all “I thought I was bad, but she’s satan.”

  5. Best commentary on this video:
“It?s ? I can?t ? even ?. she?s so cold, it feels like watching Ralph Fienes shoot that little kid in the back in “Schindler’s List”. And he was a Nazi. Who ran a concentration camp. Even crocodiles provide for their kids, and they eat half of them.” (WWTD.com)

  6. HA I didnt know anything about her but she is hilarious. Take that thirsty kid!

I especially love the fakeout at the end.

“Okay, fine, I’ll give you some wa–PSYCH!!!”

  8. You guys wanna know the best part? Here is the best part:

    “Alexis, that’s adorable.”

She doesn’t find it adorable, she’s just keeping up mommy appearances.

  9. When she says, “Alexis, that’s adorable” I realized she’d be great as the villain in McG’s next Terminator installment. Ice queen. What a bitch.

  10. remember the Simpsons episode where Apu and Manjula have octoplets and they end up living in a zoo to get help paying for everything?

once again Simpsons satire becomes cold, unforgiving reality…

  11. Really, you’re going to deny your own child water? WATER? I don’t think she gets that kids also need water to live.

  12. In Kate’s defense, Mady is the whiner of the group.

    • Hidden due to low comment rating. Click here to see.

      • Shut you pie hole, Mady’s a little twat and I’m kind of glad her Mom denied her water. Honestly, it’s just water what’s the big fuss about she could have just waited. Kids whine all the time

  13. I would whine for things all the time as a kid, when I didn’t REALLY need them, so I almost kind of understand.
but my mom would never have gotten a bottle for herself, ever. that’s terrible.

  15. “Mady has ruined more photos with her scowling pouty face!”

    fuck youtube commenters.

I wonder how long it will take for one or several of them to write a tell-all memoir. Probably not until their twenties, right? Goddammit, I can’t wait that long.

    • i think the same thing about Michael Jackson’s kids.
i am so sorry that their childhoods are obviously totally messed up and terrible, and for the emotional scars they’ll struggle to overcome for the rest of their lives but *OHMAN* that’s going to be some awesome tell-all memoir action.
i can’t help rubbing my hands together in anticipation!

  17. Yeah, I think if I were in that situation as the mother, I would probably not ask the producer or whomever told her that there wasn’t time to give the kids water if I could give my kids water. I would just give them the water bottle. And if I were the kid, I probably would have committed suicide by now, being that I was thrown into the horrific world of reality TV “stardom”.

And what a bitch for taking a sip of water before her children. Like, okay, if we were at a park or something and we were all thirsty and we had nothing to do but be in that park and drink water, I might not even think about who gets the first sip and drink the water first. But, if there was any question as to whether or not there was enough time for my children and I to have a sip of water from the same bottle, I would let them drink instead of myself. Do I deserve an award for that? I deserve an award for that.

  18. Kate is a living example of the nightmare woman I am determined to avoid morphing into over time. She is god awful. Just a straight up bad person.

  19. The kids have probably built up enough criteria for emancipation, right?

I’ve watched this show a couple times, and in one episode she takes them to buy a couple of puppy’s, because eight children obviously isn’t enough responsibility. At the puppy mill (seriously), there was a shot of one of the kids crying, and the cameraman asked him what’s wrong, because the crew are really the ones raising these poor children. “I’m scared of dogs”, he whimpered. She ended up taking the weeks-old puppies back at the end of the episode. Why? Somehow were peeing on the floor.

You could argue that she’s just a victim of a voyeuristic culture, but this woman deserves fifty times the public shaming and eventual irrelevance that’s coming to her. I abhor tabloid culture, but I can’t wait the five years it’ll take to see her 250 pound, unloved body crying over a pint of Ben & Jerry’s on the cover of Us Weekly.

This whole Jon & Kate thing makes me :( all over.

I’ve never commented on Videogum before and I check it multiple times a day. I had to comment here.

This is the most horrific display of behavior I’ve ever seen.

  21. Okay let me preface this by saying i didn’t watch the video because I’m at work, but I am still pretty disgusted by the stifling superiority of the commenters on this post. I hope no one sees an edited clip of me interacting with EIGHT of my children in a totally unnatural and contrived environment and decides outright that I don’t deserve to be a mother. Also, I hope that I never have eight children. But anyway. Lindsay is right about how everyone just loves acting superior to her. This is why I love reality TV (this is why I hate reality TV).

    • So… we should never be disgusted by anyone’s behavior? Or just parents’ behavior? Or just parents of eight children? Or just parents of eight children who make their living off of those children? I just want to be clear on this.

Immediately giving that little girl what she was whining for — over and over again — would actually have been BAD parenting, believe it or not outraged peoples. The girl wasn’t going to die waiting a few minutes. Haven’t watched the show, and I’m sure she’s the awful harpy everyone says, but this wasn’t it. And the “That’s adorable” comment was actually irony; she did not find the whining and shrieking adorable.

I’m a mom, and I’m with Kate on this one.

    • The abhorrent thing isn’t that she’s not giving in to her daughter’s demands but rather that she is denying them water while drinking herself. Ugh. The Worst.

    • She was saying “That’s adorable” to the girl putting the slinky on her head, not to the girl asking for water. Just to clarify. But I also haven’t seen the show, and was confused by that too when I first watched this.

    • I agree, my girlfriend teaches 22 6 years olds, and if everyone is so shocked by this, their heads would explode if they witnessed the things that go on in that classroom (she’s a very good teacher by the way). Not that Kate isn’t a monster… this just doesn’t prove it.

    • i was going to complain and hate on your comment but that IS irony. the fact that you know what irony is make me want to give you a hug.

  23. Ok, I understand some of the anti-Kate-hating here. And I don’t often ever tell anyone how to be a parent because that’s just rude to do. I will also admit that I have never really been interested in this show and have not seen an episode. But you have to admit that she seems like a down-right mean person here for taking a sip of water herself, in front of her child who commented just previously that she was thirsty. Kate got the water because she asked for water. The kid asked for water repeatedly (and began whining because that’s what kids do) and didn’t get any. And I don’t know what kind of missing context would make this feel right to me, unless I guess the kid always complains about wanting water and it’s just a thing she does. Does she always do that? I am seriously asking. I don’t know because I’ve never seen the show. If not, then maybe she doesn’t deserve her kids drinking her blood, but she’s still a bitch, in my opinion.

  24. I find all their outfits more horrifying then her behavior.

  25. Kate just knows Madie will get her bottle of water, instantly become bored with it like all her other toys and then demand Peligrino.

She is so wise and a picture perfect image of how to be a parent (she is not a picture perfect example of how to be a parent.)

  26. Nope! Her kids were just being bratty…it’s nothing to call CPS about. However, when she says “Is there time to throw a bottle of water at me?”, I had a fantasy about whipping one right at her stupid hairdo.

Horrible… and yet, not terribly surprising.

Also, I think that should be the title of the first tell-all book one of these kids writes in 15 years.

Hey now, Kate is just applying the lessons she picked up from that parenting book, Be the Pack Leader, by Cesar Milan.

Where are you when we need you, Child Protective Services?

If I never have to hear about this fucking show again, it will be too soon.

  31. Good GAWD!!!! You people are the biggest bunch of sniveling whiners I’ve ever had to listen to in my whole life!! You all must’ve been SPOILED STINKING ROTTEN by your parents if you think waiting for the next break to get some water qualifies as ABUSE!!! Unbelievable. I bet each one of you is raising SPOILED STINKING ROTTEN BRATS, too. Thanks a whole lot. We really need more spoiled stinking rotten young adults coming out into the world…cuz it’s not like their are enough of them being forced on us as it is!

    • giving your child water when she wants water will not spoil them rotten.
On the other hand, BEING NICE TO YOUR CHILDREN will make them NICE YOUNG ADULTS.

      • to Preston. Please. You need to learn that you don’t give a child everything they want, every millisecond that they want it. And yes, Preston, that does include, WATER. The child will actually not die within the three minutes it’s going to take for her to get her own bottle of water.

You should teach your children to be nice. In other words teach them to understand that people, including mommy, can’t and won’t produce everything they want on the millisecond they demand it. And yes, that includes water. If you take that piece of advice, then your kids may become nice kids, and may even grow up to be nice adults.
