Remember Sonya the Slow Loris who captured the internet’s heart last week with her insatiable ticklemania? Well she’s still adorable and poisonous to humans, but last night her owners peeled back the curtain of cuteness and showed us Sonya’s dark side. How does Sonya gets the energy to request tickling with her eyes all night and day? She eats live, wriggling caterpillars. Where’s your god now, internet?:
To paraphrase Paul Rudd in Wet Hot American Summer, “You taste like a caterpillar. I don’t like you anymore.” (Thanks for the tip, Edith!)

AWWWW!!! She licks the caterpillar ooze off her fingers b/c it’s her fav snack!!!! Ca-Yoooo-wut!
I think I could watch Sonya eat someone’s face off and still think she’s the cutest freakin thing I’ve ever seen. Bring it on, internets.
Umm, you clearly forgot Box Cat.
It’s all fun and tickle games until a caterpillar gets eaten.
Are you my slow loris?
Yeah, you my slow loris.
Still cute as fuck
Still cute – still probably stolen from its mother by a poacher.
oh noes.
she might be the slowest of all lorises. they really weren’t kidding when they named these things.
also – i love the guilty look and the hand near the face. she’s all, I CAN’T HELP WHAT I AM!
we love you anyway.
You know what? CUTER than balls.
so this is what fur coats look like when they’re alive???
I laughed. One up.
The squirming silent screams of the poor caterpillars is NIGHTMARISH.
The wink before she finishes up and turns around is ADORABLE.
I should be conflicted, but sadly I am not. True love.
I’ve always been freaked out by caterpillers like these, so seeing Sonya eat these bastards is the best therapy I could ask for.
Cured.
Are you mental? I could watch Sonya eat caterpillars all day. Not only is she cute as balls but I can feed her any pest I find creeping into the house.
not to be all Professor Entomology, but I think those are meal worms.
darn! you beat me to it.. was just about to say those are meal worms. i guess we’re the only weirdos here who recognized that they don’t look much like caterpillars and who had weird pets? i fed mine to hamsters & turtles.
Ugh, yes, we fed those to our hedgehog. Best part? When he became paralyzed from brain tumors and we had to feed them to him with tweezers. Trying to getting a worm squirming frantically for its life into the mouth of a very, very slow hedgehog, who will then crunch it up with slow and terrible glee is exactly as much (as little) fun as it sounds.
I don’t care. What do you eat? Still cute as balls. YAY! More TICKLES!
whatever. when that slow loris gets a little meal worm with both hands and looks at the camera…all is forgiven. too damn cute.
Her face is still the cutest, but now I know her hands are the creepiest.
