John Roberts is probably best known for the Long Island mom character he’s perfected in videos like The Christmas Tree and Mother’s Day. His comedic sensibility is more in the vein of subtle character studies and the absurd hilarity of genuine human behavior. You know, rather than the comedic sensibility of farting in a bathtub full of pudding, or something. What’s the most important thi–TIMING! In addition to the holiday-themed Mother videos, he has another series in which he plays a pug-nosed teenage girl named Debra who’s best friends with Jackie. It’s like Summer Heights High but without all the being Australian. It’s great. Another episode just went up. Oh look, here it is:
