Obviously, Louis kills it on the stand-up, (look up “duh” in the dictionary and there’s a picture of that sentence), but his story about telling a terrible joke on the set of Ricky Gervais’s The Invention of Lying is obviously the real winner here. I could seriously listen to Louis C.K. tell funny, off-the-cuff* anecdotes all day. The best. I could listen to him tell funny, off-the-cuff anecdotes about the phone book.

*Basically.

  1. Is this the first time the What America Wants tag has been used non-ironically? I think so. This is actually what America wants. Real America, that is.
My irony compass is no longer pointing north. I’ve lost track.

  2. I think that Mac joke story is simply a thinly veiled stealing of Whoa!’s Videogum life.

    • I want you to believe this: I was not going to vote you down until your sarcastic “you guys have fun voting me down.”

      • It really annoys me when people do that shit. It happens all the time lately. DOWNVOTES AWAY GUYS LOL. Relax, some people will downvote you, some won’t. And they certainly don’t need your permission.

        • No homo, people downvote me just because sometimes.

(I could count on a -3 by my comments every rip when I first started posting. Then the gumTurds lightened up a bit… then I got Worst of the Week in monsters ball (-50 or something) a while back, and I been aiming for the stars ever since.)

    • I agree. Louis CK is much better than that airplane bit. Though I liked the joke he did after.

On Topic: Man, I felt really sorry for Louis when he told his story. As soon as he said his line I already dreaded the conclusion. You know how sometimes you wish someone wouldn’t tell a story so it wouldn’t be true? That’s how I felt about Louis. I didn’t want to believe he could be so unbelievably lame. I can only imagine the utter embarrassment that followed for him.

  4. The clip they showed from the movie did not make me want to see it. I like my Louis CK with facial hair.

  5. Louis CK is a so awesome that I think all of America (and the world) should know about him, but, on the other hand, I don’t want to share him with the same people that find Dane Cook funny.

  6. john hodgman + louis ck: we now have our bad boys 3 cast.

  7. I’ve seen Louis live and he did more material about airplanes. Sure it’s a generic topic but it’s relatable and safe and it’s not like he was trying to do some ground breaking set in a minute and half.

At first glance it seems like this film is a twist on Liar Liar but it could turn out to be something more.

  8. Yeah, I saw him do this bit as part of his routine at the Comedy Cellar, but a minute and a half really isn’t much to work with. It’s a lot funnier when he has time.

  9. Does anyone else not like John Hodgman? I don’t find him entirely distasteful, but being in those Mac ads alone is enough for me to dislike him and Justin Long. So when I see him or Justin in anything I kinda go “mehhhhh” and find myself almost instantly disinterested. It’s like reverse advertising.

  10. Obviously, Louis kills it on the stand-up, (look up “duh” in the dictionary and there’s a picture of that sentence), but his story about telling a terrible joke on the set of Ricky Gervais’s The Invention of Lying is obviously the real winner here.

WAY TO GO, GOOFBALL. YOU USED “OBVIOUSLY” TO BEGIN THAT SENTENCE THEN AGAIN THEN YOU OBVIOUSLY SHOULD’T HAVE. YOU ARE THE CLOWN PRINCE OF ADVERB ABUSE.
