This is from Tuesday, but it’s too funny to ignore: The Colbert Report made a web-only video using the famous clip of Stephen Colbert falling and breaking his wrist, with the members of Green Day playing him off keyboard cat-style:

Trying to think of how I would describe that video to the people of even March, 2009 is making my brain hurt. Somebody needs to slow the internet down. (Via CC Insider.)

Nice try Green Day, I’m still not buying your shitty music.
Green Day….I’m not supposed to like you….this complicates things……ugh.
internet.. you have outdone yourself today.. kudos!
(and yes.. green day.. i have far more important things to do with my time than develop an appreciation for you.. please stop..)
Between this and the Walmart boycott, we have to like Green Day again? This feeling is so ’94.
Also, welcome back Lindsay!
Nope not falling for it Green Day. Now wipe off the eyeliner, you are adults.
colbert has a song he wrote, like 20 seconds long, that he played during the green day interview. it was FUCKING wonderful. can you PLEASE get a link for it, lindsay? everyone here will love it, trust me.
here it is. in the interview. go to 4:35. it’s the best song i’ve ever heard.

if glenn beck ever crawled out of his doom tank long enough to write a song, that’d be it – but without the *wink wink*.

did anyone find a canadian link? canadian comedy network is all fluff. pass jon dore, pass.
I hate that Green Day is (are?) likable as actual people, because it makes it that much more sad that there music is sucking so bad lately :/
Also, Stephen Colbert’s little composition is totally the best.
the big question here is: how does the singer-guy look so young? the other two senior citizens do look like senior citizens (to be fair, they look more like iguanas, but whatevs), but this guy looks just the same than when they started, back then in the mid 60s. is it the hair? the guyliner? the angry teenager souls he eats for breakfast? i look older and i must be like half his age! (i’m 65 BTW)
i’m not even being snarky or facetious when I say Green Day started BEFORE I WAS BORN yet this dude looks like one of my little brother’s friends – THIS IS SOME BENJAMIN BUTTON’S SHIT!
Those guys are seven years old. mind = blown.
see also Jared Leto, who’s at least 45 years old. baby food and rouge will do that for ya.
I met him irl, and really the only thought I came up with was, “Damn, he looks young.”
I like Green Day.
I do too, but only in the private of my own bedroom.
They didn’t do the paw raise at the end! I feel cheated.
But they DID do the eyes-closed head-tilt joy-face, which is really the best part
