Gwyneth Paltrow is a self-absorbed idiot who’s completely disconnected from any rational sense of what the world is like for people who are not movie stars that own castles. And her lifestyle website is a piece of shit. Those are just FACTS. But obviously, there are lots of reasons to dislike her. Here’s one. From PopCrunch:
Gwyneth Paltrow has been slammed by Hindu scholars for using religious terminology on her controversial Goop blog.
According to Hindu leader Rajan Zed, the Oscar-winning actress should learn more about the ancient religion before using lines like “nourish the inner aspect” on her lifestyle website.
“There are not many deep, spiritual and philosophical thoughts in the blog, which are an essential part of nourishing the inner self,” Zed fumed this week.
He added, “The actress needs to grow-up and stop writing about mundane topics like ‘Boots by Gucci’, ‘Banana Pancakes’, ‘The Hungry Cat’ and ‘Tweezerman’ – in which she talks about taming the unruly eyebrows of men.”
“Instead, she needs to talk about topics like realizing self, immortality, deeper reality, eternity, soul, inner realms of the mind and spirit, pure consciousness. That’s if she’s truly serious about inner aspect.”
Haha. I would have ended with “Instead, she needs to shut up,” but otherwise we mostly agree. I’m not a religious leader, but I definitely think that “Banana Pancakes” feed the stomach rather than the soul. Obviously, though, Rajan Zed just doesn’t get it. He’s trying to put Gwyneth in the constrictive box of an intelligent, thoughtful woman with a genuine purpose, when clearly she is trying to break out of that box and be a garbage clown of raging bourgeois satisfaction. And in that sense she is killing it.

but she’s still lovely
You’ve obviously never had banana pancakes.
Ikr? They are so nourishing to the inner soul that Jack Johnson wrote a song about it!
In all honesty, Rajan Zed doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Gwyneth Paltrow NEEDS to talk about those subjects? No she doesn’t. I’d much rather ignore someone writing about pancakes rather than her “deeper reality.”
If Gwyneth must blog, I would so much rather she blog about hungry cats than pure consciousness. Write what you know.
Also, her “controversial” Goop blog? What’s the controversy? Some people hate it, some people ignore it?
I think it’s f*ck the haters time for Gwyneth….
Is it just me, or do “Boots by Gucci,” “Banana Pancakes,” “The Hungry Cat,” and “Tweezerman” sound like rejected Jeopardy categories?
“I’ll take ‘Banana Pancakes’ for $1000, Alex.”
Maybe the Video Daily Double in “Tweezerman” explains those brows in that picture above… yeesh.
What Gweneth has to say about “realizing self, immortality, deeper reality, eternity, soul, inner realms of the mind and spirit, pure consciousness” would be even more asinine than her thoughts on Boots by Gucci.
