As many of you know, Videogum’s comment voting system has been on the fritz ever since Wednesday’s zero-out. It’s been a tough time but thank the Lord in Heaven that we all have each other to get us through, and we do see a light (some time early next week?) at the end of this tunnel of nonrecognition. But! Because of the voting system failure, we do not have a Monsters’ Ball to present to you today. I’m so sorrryyyeeeeeeee! DOWN-VOTE DOWN-VOTE DOWN-VOTE! But instead of looking at this as the lack of a comment reward institution that you’ve come to look forward to and rely on to kick-start your weekend with the knowledge of both who had the #4 highest rated comment and also who had the lowest, WHY NOT JUST LOOK AT IT LIKE A FUN NO-RULES PARTY?!?! The fact is that even though there has been no way for any of you to get a thumbs-up in the past few days, you have all still been actively showing the world that you are honest-to-goodness the best commenters on the whole internet. So maybe pick out some comments YOU’D like to highlight? Or don’t even do that and just post a GIF of someone dancing! Whatever you want. You only live once, and you should live that life WITH FREEDOM! Just no malware please LOL.

Everyone gets a thumbs up from me. And, yes, I *am* Emma Stone.
I say keep the no-votes! It’s made me stop scrolling for the highest-rated comments to get quick laffs and read most/all of them. You guys are all very funny and insightful regardless of the number next to your comment! The no-votes has kinda reinvigorated my love for VG. Not that it was ever gone, but it’s like going on a nice romantic getaway with your partner and realizing why you’re with them in the first place.
What about making it so you don’t have to be logged in to upvote? Sometimes I just come to upvote without commenting because you guys are funny. And I think that way commenters would play more towards a larger audience not just other commenters?
I guess I like to upvote things just to show my appreciation. I don’t think I’ve downvoted in years. I even upvote Gibberish-speaking spambots because they amuse me.
There’s really no sort of logic at play here so I don’t know why I’m trying to find any.
I think that’s a good idea but what about also this: What if you couldn’t see other people’s upvotes until the ball?

My favorite comment of the week was both times truckasaurus posted that cat getting in the bathtub and freaking out! And also when Queen of the Sorry People thought Harry Styles was Alyssa Milano. AND ESPECIALLY when artdork, mannerrrrrsss and I decided to meet up for trivia on Tuesday. Ack! I’m so excited I’m so scared! Any other Boston Monsters come meet us! We’ll all be wearing chrysanthemums in our lapels!

You just have to make sure you get to the original image and that the link ends in .gif and isn’t super long. That’s what she said? Is that still a thing. Anyway, hope that helps!
