OH THANK GOD! We’ve had an exhausting day here together, and now it’s time to go home and kiss our loved ones and make dinner and breathe. And for a lucky one of you, maybe it’s also the time to go to Albuquerque, New Mexico and buy Jesse’s car from Breaking Bad? Treat yo’self! RIGHT?! Hahah ahhhh, treat yo’self to this car, please! From TMZ:
The car’s currently on display at Mike Faris Auto Wholesale in Albuquerque, New Mexico — near where “Breaking Bad” was shot — and there’s a sign on the windshield that reads, “Jesse’s car as seen on ‘Breaking Bad’ … Make offer.”
Faris tells us, the car was originally leased from him by production … but now that the show’s over, they’ve returned it … so he’s putting it up for sale.
Faris tells TMZ, he’s under strict orders from Sony Pictures Television NOT to sell the car until the final BB episode airs this summer … but people are already making offers. Unfortunately, Farris says he’s unable to consider any offer until Sony’s deadline has passed.
THEN WHY TEMPT US, MIKE?! How dare you! At the end of our day! But we can at least all IMAGINE how much we’re going to bid on Jesse’s car, and how many cool points we’re going to get when we drive it past our old high schools. Right? “Oh man, is that…Is that Jesse’s car from Breaking Bad? And is that…No, it couldn’t be. Is that [your name] driving it?! I AWLAYS KNEW THEY WERE A LOT COOLER THAN I WAS! I WISH I HADN’T RUINED OUR RELATIONSHIP, I’D REALLY LIKE TO BE FRIENDS NOW!” Hahah. A blog can dream. Ah, what a dream. So anyway, thank god! Cross Monday off your list of days you had to accomplish! Are you doing anything fun tonight? What book are you reading? Finished a television series lately? Looking forward to Gabe’s return tomorrow as much as I am? Tell me.

I used to work with this guy who owned five cars and he was very proud of that. We used to call him Jay Leno. The thing is, all those cars were shitty beaters that barely worked. Whatever makes you happy, I guess.
Is Gabe on another snackation? And if so, will he tell us of his snack-based adventures?
Aaaahhhhh you guys, the other guy’s offer on the house I wanted didn’t go through and I’ve just resubmitted my offer and I will know by Friday and maybe I am going to buy a houuuuussseeeee!!!!!!!
YAAAAAY! Home ownership is great! I would assume!
Congrats! I want to live vicariously through you because a world without upstairs neighbors seems like the most beautiful thing I could imagine.
Yeah, no kidding! I’m pretty sure mine strap bricks to their feet in the apt and they play fetch with their dog at 4 in the fucking morning.
Mine plays shoot-em-up video games so loudly that my walls shake.
mine do that! and also jumprope and skip around. Fun times.
Mine is at this moment having an argument on his phone in another language, so I don’t even get the satisfaction of eavesdropping. Apartment living is fun!
Sorry, other guy, but GOOD LUCK FATIMA!
SAVE THE MONEY AND BUY JESSIE’S CAR!*
*JK, good luck!
That’s fantastic!! Good luck!!
I haven’t watched much TV lately (Bob’s Burgers ONLY), but I watched every episode of The Office through ssn 7, then just kind of gave up on it. Anyway, every once-in-a-while I catch a new random episode when my roommates watch it, and today I noticed our friend Badger(!) as Dwight’s cousin or w/e. Hi, Badger! Missed you! Also, Decemberists??
Listening to new Wavves on NPR. It’s dece. #greatreviews
only dece? : (
What book am I reading right now? This one! It is super messed up. If you are like me and have a morbid fascination with Scientology I would definitely recommend it.
As soon as I’m done with my current book, I’m planning to read it!
koko watch tea with mouse lino. movie sad.
I’m reading Paradise Lost for the first time! I just finished Book IX, which is the part where Satan tempts Eve, and it is probably one of the most beautiful pieces of writing I’ve ever read? Not sure why I put this one off, guys. It is an enduring classic for a reason. I’m also reading Near to the Wild Heart by Clarice Lispector, and it is very weird and slippery but also quite good.
I took a class on Milton in college, and it was one of my favorites because Milton was an amazing author, and my professor was great. He was really passionate about Milton and gave these really intense lectures, which made it even more enjoyable. Our final exam happened to fall on Milton’s 400th birthday, so we ate birthday cake instead of having an exam. Best test ever.
Clarice Lispector is the best!!!!! I am such a fangirl, pretty much only based on The Hour of the Star. I have that fancy 4 book set with her portrait on it, though. One of my favorite book sets ever. I will be reading Near to the Wild Heart as soon as I finish 2666, which I haven’t even started yet.
good book. http://www.amazon.com/Good-Night-Gorilla-Peggy-Rathmann/dp/0399230033/ref=la_B000AP8M5A_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363644276&sr=1-1
This post is so East Coast-normative.
I’m reading ‘Will Oldham on Bonnie “Prince” Billy’ and it’s very good. I just read the chapter where he talks about meeting Johnny Cash and singing his (Oldham’s) song “I See a Darkness” with him. It’s very sweet.
I got that book for Christmas!
I’m reading the SAGE Handbook of Intercultural Competence. Grad school is boring sometimes.
Was gonna have dinner with the inlaws but bad weather means I’m sitting on my couch with my kitty!
I’m reading The Sheriff of Yrnameer. It’s pretty good!
I am reading James Ellroy’s American Tabloid. Rooting for JFK’s death.
I read that book almost back to back with Libra by Don DeLillo. It was accidental (I try to avoid knowing what books are about before I read them) and I liked a lot Libra better, though I generally like Ellroy quite a bit. I would recommend it, though not next, maybe?
Kelly do good today. Koko enjoy kelly gum. happy.
Still at work. Ugh. Busy day here. NOT what I signed up for.
I’m reading The Patrick Melrose novels from Edward St. Aubyn and it is VERY upsetting and wonderful and mean. Up next is The Love Song of Jonny Valentine — literary Justin Bieber fanfic!
Also, the thought of watching Top of the Lake is making me tired. I think I need fewer shows to love.
Teddy Wayne is great, and that book is very fun! I have The Patrick Melrose novels on my list. Been hearing about them a lot lately.
I really can’t wait. And, according to the Daily News, hipsters LOVE IT!
I missed this book post because I was at book club. Beat that!
Anyway, now that I’m done with my book club book, I am very excited to begin Joyce Carol Oates’ new book. There’s a map on the flyleaf! I’m seeing her read next week and I’m so excited you’d think it was my birthday. I just love JCO even though most of her books make me despair for humanity. I just think she’s a bitchin’ lady.
Also, I marathoned Call the Midwife last weekend. So good. I just love PBS, sue me.
I am super late to this post, but does anyone want to talk about the tournament of books?
