This weekend was the White House Correspondents’ dinner in Washington D.C. It’s an annual event where the press corps, politicians, and important celebrities gather to let off some steam, using humor to ease the tension between an industry dependent on secrecy (government) and an industry dependent on exposure (media). Good times. Perhaps the most famous White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech was the one Stephen Colbert gave in 2006, but our current president, Barack Obama, is clearly looking for a close second. He’s the Dave Attell of Foggy Bottom! He’s the Sarah Silverman of the Beltway!

  15. my favorite part wasn’t even a joke. my favorite part was how instead of saying “Michelle Obama is here” he paused so that it sounded like “Michelle, OBAMA IS HERE” Also, Obama/Pirate meeting is my new wallpaper.
