The video for “Evolution: Redefined” by Geoff Moore And The Distance (1993). Those silly, fun Van Halen videos seem almost subtle in comparison:

This was, of course, back in a time when old dudes made videos that were considered cool, so it should be graded on a slight curve. But there’s no excuse for the existence of that teacher.

  1. home run, geoff moore. home F-ing run.

  2. Don’t listen to the scientist. Listen to the man having a rock party inside your book.

Also, while i’m pretty accepting of religions and what not, I am like Ross of Friends about evolution. “Accidents of nature”? Geoff Moore should have paid more attention in science class, so he’d know what the hell he is singing about.

  3. Hahaha, nostalgia! I saw Geoff Moore and the Distance LIVE (1994, I think?) and had totally forgotten about it!

    • Me too! I saw them at the Alive! Christian Music festival in 1997, but haven’t thought about them since. I wish I’d been high. That would have made it excusable.

  4. Some one should give these guys all the money.

  5. I’m pretty sure the teacher is an evil/white Bill Cosby

  6. OH GOD I THINK I JUST DIED OF GREAT.

  7. Why is that 45 year old dude using a text book to hit on a teenager?

  8. I don’t think those old guys should be hitting on that girl. She’s still in H.S.

  9. I love how the first lyric is “I was staring through the black board trying to keep from sleeping.” So not only are they promoting ignorance but also telling kids to be bad students?

  10. it’s like Huey Lewis and the Messianic News.

  11. I am confused by the lead singer’s switching between the fringe jacket with Lennon shades and the leather jacket with backwards ballcap. Does he go Full Metal Poochie just when he’s stalking high schoolers?

“It takes a lot of faith to say we’re accidents of nature”
Right, because Christianity is totally not based on faith in one omniscient being creating EVERYTHING.
MTV, biggest WTF Moment right here.

  13. SCIENCE IS LIES, KIDS!
