Wow. What follows is the most exciting internet mystery since, like, Mark Gormley, but weirder: Sara Schaefer over at God’s Tumblr (and elsewhere!) was searching for something random (“jesus love letter”) on YouTube this afternoon when she stumbled down a fascinating and puzzling new rabbit hole, and dragged me down with her, and now neither of us is sure about anything anymore. ANYTHING. On the internet or in life! Meet The Chrisagis Brothers. They’re twin brothers (though I’m not even 100% sure about that anymore) named Brian and Shawn Chrisagis who perform Christian songs and skits. But that’s just the half of it. If you have the time, please join us on what I promise will be a very entertaining adventure…Who are the Chrisagis Brothers?
This is the first video Sara saw, part of a bunch of videos the Chrisagis Brothers put up from their church’s Easter variety show, last week. It’s the Chrisagis brothers setting up a clip of their pastor dancing with little girls to a song called “In Your Easter Bonnet.” If you have severe ADD, start at 1:30:
Okay, so your first thoughts are probably what ours were: these are (Gay? Some videos have the tags “leather” and “sexy”) comedians ridiculing Christianity. Or this is a Tim & Eric video. Or something. But as Sara pointed out, these guys are just too prolific (they have over a hundred videos going back a year) with TOO FEW VIEWS (an average of 100 each) to have kept doing this as comedy, undiscovered. Fake or real these took so much energy to make! Children were rented! Okay, so there’s more:

And there’s SO much more. It’s as if they’ve spent the past year populating the internet with this hilarious, quotable internet double-persona and just waited for it to be discovered. (They supposedly have their own line of DOLLS, for example!) I strongly encourage anyone with any information about the Chrisagis Brothers to come forward — are they exactly who they say they are, or are they some sort of Christian twin version of Borat? Right now, both answers seem equally likely! What’s clear though, is these guys (or guy) definitely have a real sense of humor. If you choose, like Sara and I did, to become temporarily obsessed with these guys (example: we called that easy-to-find phone number…and the outgoing message sounds 100% real), let us know what you learn.

Weren’t-allowed-to-socialize-with-other-children accents. My brother in law talks like them, Shawn in particular. It has always secretly cracked me up.
Pastor Mark Zelewicz is equally intriguing. He seems like he’s the real brain behind this operation…and really enjoys doing choreographed dances with little girls.
It’s hard to believe people could be so self unaware as to be doing this straight. But there does not seem to be any kind of mean spirit in what they’re doing. It’s as if they are intentionally being stupid but in a spirit of love. I’d have to vote for some kind of 3rd way of intentionally dumb ironic sincerity. Like the point is to spread Christian love and not be so overbearingly sanctimonious they way most mainstream Christian stuff can be. As a Christian I hope they are just having fun with the misconception that we are all a bunch of stupid, humorless idiots. We know how things are. We live in the real world too. Pedro the Lion, Headphones, Sufjan Stevens, Jay Bakker and The Welcome Wagon prove that being a Christian does not automatically make a person unhip or an idiot. We’re not all Michael W Smith/Rick Warren automotons.
Agreed. If these guys are for real, and I think they are, there’s no evidence of the usual judgmentalness or hate that you see in most Christian videos on the internet. It’s totally refreshing and they are clearly having a lot of fun. I want to hang out with them!

Ok, I’ll Be Home with Bells On is definitely going on this year’s Christmas mixed-CD that i send out to my church buddies. Jesus Everywhere I Go was my favorite song. I especially love how they made sure not to actually look like they were playing the song in the video. Plus the costuming was fantastic!
But seriously, someone needs to remix that bloopers video and add excessive, inappropriate “bleeping.”

It’s pretty scary to think where these guys would be without their religion. Where else and under what socioeconomic umbrella other than Christian America could these guys have made a living? Stick them in cubicles or construction yards and you have mass murder or spouse abuse on your hands. Yea? Nay? I just hope no one tries to convince them that Christianity has its flaws.

I spent a lot of time analyzing whether some clever person had done the split-screen twin effect. It’s actually kind of easy to pull off. Verdict: probably not. The shots aren’t lockdowns so if someone treated the footage, it was complicated and probably expensive.
Other verdict: I need a hobby.
But if this is a hoax, they did a great job seeding stuff on the internet. The names on the Christmas video credits link to other people who seem likely to be in this kind of thing, like music teacher Carolyn Glaub.

You guys are just so inspirational to me. Recently, my pet turtle was diagnosed with cancer and your new song “Jesus Everywhere I Go” really just shows me how God is? always there, even for our pets. By the grace of God, little T-Mac (my turtle), is free of cancer and is happier than ever. Thanks Chrisagis Brothers!

I have met the Chrisagis brothers and they are really twins. They feel that to many people think that Christians can’t and don’t have fun. They have traveled around the country trying to get that message out. Brian and Shawn are both nice gentlemen.

Believe it or not, These guys are real, I actually spent the afternoon with them today! They sang and did a puppet show at our church this morning, they are funny, but really nice guys. They are who they say they are too…not Borat for the Christian world haha

Trust me, these guys are the real deal. Over the past weekend I went and saw them in the Yorkville, Ohio community park. They sang their hits for about an hour and even had a mime perform with them on a couple of tunes. Nicest guys you’d ever want to meet. I suggested that they incorporate a bit about Noah’s ark – “Just as the animals boarded the ark, we are also coming to you in the form of twosies, twosies.” They loved it and said they’ll use that tag line in the future.
I’m even in their new video – The Gold, The Girls and the Glory. I pull up in my Subaru Outback in a back alley in Bridgeport, Ohio and solicit 4 prostitutes. The song is about how people are tempted by all sorts of evil stuff and can find their way to salvation through – yeah, you guessed it, JC.
Seriously though, they are possibly the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’m a devout secular humanist, but how can you not love these guys? The Chirsagis Brothers and I have one thing in common (only one thing) – we both put it out there and put it all on the line.
Seriously. No, seriously. You do not know these people. Your salvation is not their concern.
I live in a near by town from them. I assure you that these guys are all too real. Albeit an odd situation with them being single, in their early 40s, living together, working together at the same national chain, pronounced lisps, and the videos; they are the nicest guys with infectious positive attitudes. Some speculate the fabrication of any childhood illness; possibly the mother suffered from some form of Munchhausen bi-proxy syndrome. Love the musafar vid.
I also know them personally and actually served as a hooker in their last video. They are the nicest and funniest guys you could meet. They both have a distinct laugh and have huge hearts. I am honored to be called their friend!

We are the Chrisagis Brothers. We actually find ourselves funny so we aren’t hurt by anything anyone has said. But we were hurt by one comment made about our Mother. She was not mentally ill… infact, she was the most amazing Mom & woman we ever knew. She had a heart condition when she was young & wasn’t supposed have us but the Lord got us all through. She was the most loving, sweetest & most beautiful lady ever. She raised us in the Lord & she was named mom by everyone she knew including actors Erik Estrada, actress Jennifer O’Neill, actor Jack Scalia, and actress JoAnn Pflug. She died of cancer 7 years ago, before that she had two strokes… the chemo that the doctors gave her was so strong that it destroyed her kidneys. So she then went on dialysis. She suffered for 13 years batteling cancer & recovering from the strokes. In those years she never once lost her Faith & we were taking care of her. Infact, her funeral was the largest funeral any woman around the area ever had even stars came in because she was such a wonderful woman. So you all could say whatever about us but leave our Mom out of it.
We are glad you all enjoy the videos & get a laugh from some… we made these videos for enjoyment & we believe we all need to laugh at life or it will kill you. We love people & try to be there for others. We are filming a new TV series for Daystar TV – we want it to be funny & for all people to see that Christians can be funny, they can enjoy life & yes even be real. We pray that is what legacy we leave behind in all we do. We don’t take ourselves or our talents seriously. We do what we do for others & for the Glory of the Lord.

Hey Gang!
We wanted to explain one last thing that is on this site. Someone named Mary posted a site called sociopathetic whatever? It is on angelfire. This site is soooo stupid & the lady who posted it isn’t really named Mary. We know who put this site up and it is two people from Weirton WV. they are upset with us because we came against something that they were doing wrong. As ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we have to stand against some things. That does not make us bad people. But what they did in putting up this site calling us perverted socialpathic liars is wrong. We have always tried to live for Christ… we can truly say that we have lived it without preaching it down to people. We do this because we don’t like people speaking down to us… We have always tried to preach every day & use words only when needed. We can’t say we have always done this… sometimes we loose our cool… but we all are like that. We are human… there is only one perfect person. We hate the fact that this awful site from angelfire was put up. Infact, it claims to have been there since 1994 but that is really funny because the awful mug shots they got of us was taken 3 years ago. LOL! Those are really awful pictures. YIKES!!! We don’t mean to fight our cause – we believe our life & work can show you what we are all about. We aren’t the handsomest guys, nor the most talented ones… we are just us. We loved the Monkeys (with Davy Jones) & we want to create videos, music & fun like they did. As for the Toys we created – each teach valuable lessons to children – we created these toys to give children what we grew up in and that was a family filled with love, joy, peace, forgiveness, acceptance, & Christian living… So there you have it. We actually have lived a boring life – we are honored that so many people are interested in it. We believe that each of you have great stories just as we do about your lives – if we only stopped & listened to each other a bit… shared a little more & loved each other a little more… we could really see God’s hand on each of our lives not just ours. It’s really not all about us – because our story is all about Him (Jesus) and what He can do for us all.
That’s really all we have to say but we wanted all of you who don’t really know us not to believe this stupid garbage that Mary put up & the other one about our Mom. You see – we have worked in ministry for years, worked with stars & with all of that people sometimes get jealous & want to hurt us because of God’s favor on our lives. And we are here to say He loves you all & He can give you all the same favor & do great things for you (make your dreams come true).

First thing I want to state for the record is the Chrisagis Brothers are real. I have worked with them for the last few years and they are a spark of truth in this world of lies. They show a love that comes from God that the world twists around to try to destroy them and their testimony. They have an extreme sense of humor that is aimed toward themselves if they do it because they never would want to hurt anyone because that is not their spirit or intention EVER. No one is threatened by them because they are open and honest with people. Their spirit is like that of a child and that is why they are friendly towards people.
Second thing I want to say is the website that Mary posted is NOT a real website and here are the truths.
1)If you would type the web address in without the /doh.html, there is no such website.
2)If you went under angelfire.com and did a search for Chrisagis Brothers with sociopath, mental disorder or anything of the like there is nothing that comes up.
3)This website page is a page allllll alone by itself and not even linked to anything which means that someone created only this site. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!
4)If you would do research you would find that the EXACT wording for this website was taken from http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html ? the top section of the page was word for word with no pictures.
5)If you would look at the bottom of the website it has a copyright date of 1994 ? HELLO – the pictures of them are just from a year ago.
6)All the people they have met and worked with are true. For I have met some of them myself. And to prove about the Candid Camera ? go to http://www.candidcamera.com and go to merchandise, click on Best of Today, Vol. 2 ? scroll down and find Best of Today, Vol. 2, click on index, go to episode 2009 and you will see Ohio twins ? Wow….Interesting finding this site. I too have known the Chrisagis brothers for quite some time and can honestly tell you they are the “real deal”. They have the most honest and loving hearts of any men I have ever met. Their love for Jesus…..totally real devotion. The sense of humor displayed in their videos is 100% them. They are a joy to be around and true servants of the living God. There is not a living breathing person on this planet who could EVER convince me otherwise! I personally know the Chrisagis brothers and they are 2 of nicest humans on the planet. It is because of their love of God that they are able to post this link on their personal facebook for all their REAL friends to look at but they do not take it personally or get mad. I think they are hilarious and anyone who meets them can’t help but to love them.
I too, personally know the Chrisagis brothers. They are as real as the sun, moon and stars. They appeal to young and old. My teenage daughters love them! They are silly, open, happy, outgoing, genuine, caring, inspirational and FUN! So, make your negative remarks about them…..it’ll get them publicity which will result in a positive outcome gaining them more fans and admirers…and they’re good looking!

Brian and Shawn are the greatest guys I know. I have known them for about 4 years. They are two of the most loving, caring, thoughtful, giving and respected guys. When ever they walk into a room and you hear their laugh it just puts a smile on your face. If everyone just had a little of their spirit this world would be a much better place.
I didn’t know their mom but I heard so many great things about her. Everyone talked so highly of her. She was such a high spirited woman and such a loving mom and wife. I wish I could have met her. The whole family is so loving and caring. I can’t say enough about them. These two guys mean the world to me and would back them 100% on all they do.

These dudes live around me, and are …different. One time they were organizing an event that had Jack Scallia….weird. But they seem nice, they were sheltered the first part of their lives from some sort of allergy to the sun or something, which im sure made them who they are.
The owner of a taxidermy school in Blanco, Texas, says he’s been receiving more phone calls and attention than he’d like over the identity of a dead roughly 30-pound, mostly hairless coyote-like creature.
“I don’t know what it is. … I do know that I have an odd animal,” Jerry Ayer said Thursday.
He said word spread quickly that he was in possession of an unknown animal — often speculated in his region to be chupacabras, or mythical creatures, he said. Soon, the local, national and even international media picked up on what he said could be a “genetically defective coyote.”
“Chupacabra” roughly translates from Spanish to “goat sucker.” Reported victims are said to have puncture wounds to their necks, supposedly where the chupacabra drained their blood.
“I don’t believe in the chupacabra,” Ayer said, adding that he’s been in the midst of a “media blitz” — receiving 50 phone calls from media outlets and citizens, as well as death threats late at night — since word got out about the strange beast.
“It’s been rough on me,” he said. “I’m almost at the point where I’m going to take my sign down and hide under a rock somewhere.”
He said he received the body from a former student whose cousin owns the barn where the creature succumbed to poison left for rodents.
Before he knew it, he said, word spread that he had a chupacabra.
Ayers, who doesn’t hunt and regards himself as a wildlife artist, said he intends to stuff and mount the animal.
He said Texas A&M University has taken tissue samples to determine exactly what it is, and other universities have also reached out to him.
“It’ll probably end up in a museum,” he said.
He’s hopeful the attention will soon die down.
“There’s no way I could teach with this,” he said, explaining that his school, Blanco Taxidermy School, generally gives one-on-one instruction in the town of about 1,500 people about 50 miles west of Austin.
“I’m unable to do any of that right now just because of the media frenzy,” he said.
