BIG NEWS! I guess! I mean not really, in the grand scheme of things this is certainly meaningless filler, but really we’re all going to die one day and possibly the only things that aren’t meaningless filler are our human relationships and whatever else we’re actually really passionate about, but maybe someone out there is really passionate about Joss Whedon and I don’t want to take that away from anyone SO! Though Joss Whedon hasĀ hemmed and hawed a bit about not being sure whether he wanted to return to write and direct Avengers 2, it was announced yesterday the he would be returning to the project! (“Because he has a lot of ideas” for it, and also presumably because he has a brain in his head and Avengers made 100 billion dollars.) But also here is something else! From Variety:
Joss Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015,” Disney said in a statement. “As part of that deal, Whedon will write and direct Marvel’s The Avengers 2 as well as help develop a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC. He will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.
There were no other details given on what Whedon’s Marvel TV show would revolve around. ABC also is developing a reboot of its “Incredible Hulk” series with Guillermo del Toro.
No details were given? So then why didn’t you DEMAND THE DETAILS? My goodness. I guess we have to do everything ourselves. (Everything = Fake guessing at what this Marvel TV project is going to be.) (WILL WE EVER GET TO REST?)
My guesses, based on 0 knowledge of the Marvel Universe:
- 7 strangers who dress up in Marvel superhero costumes for birthday parties or whatever else are gathered to live in a house together and they always have to wear their costumes and you never get to see their real faces, unless their costumes don’t have masks.
- Spiderman is 50 years old and depressed but has a young next-door neighbor who believes in him.
- The Avengers but a dark-comedy style TV show set in present day.
- Captain America is a small-town mayor with a lot of pride and a big group of buddies.
- A group of friends can’t decide on which X-Men characters they’d all be if they were all X-Men, so every episode presents an X-Men adventure but with the cast members in different roles. The group of friends thing is the frame story.
- Thor and Loki live in an apartment.
I bet it will be one of those. I don’t know anything, but I’m willing to bet, like, A LOT that it’s going to be one of those.

Runaways?
Joss Whedon only did like one plot arc for the Runaways, and it was pretty good, but I doubt he has that much influence on that particular property for them to want him to do a TV show… BUT IF HE DID I WOULD WATCH IT.
Also, I am a nerd.
I IMMEDIATELY regret posting the above comment, it is just the worst.
It’s ok, I will nerd with you. I only read the very beginning of Runaways (it’s on my list!), but a friend who’s more familiar with it says that Joss’ run on it is actually not nearly as good as “the original Brian K. Vaughn run,” for what it’s worth. -someone else’s $.02
Kyle Chandler (Gabe’s dad) will play the human mentor to a group of teenage superheroes in a small Texas town struggling to come to grips with their powers in the midst of the general tumult of adolescence. The show will be called Friday Night Tights.
A group of super villians sing songs while escaping from the crime scene. Flee!
All my friends were superheroes. Didn’t know they were superheroes. Turns out I was a superhero myself. In the Avenger Town.
i would watch the shit out of that show.
It will be an American remake of iPartment, but with superheroes.
I would watch this.
Coming soon: Ashton Kutcher IS Starfox.
Keeping Up With the Kal-El-ians
The Real Housewives Of Asgard
(Bonus points for me because Kal-El/Superman is DC)
5 Guys, a Girl and a Schwarma Place

How did you spell shawarma wrong? It’s right there on the picture!
Shawarma. Nice schpelling.
Both spellings are “correct” in as much as they are both transliterations of an arabic word. Shawarma is the most common spelling, but it’s not the only acceptable one.
The show follows Loki during his adventures between the end of Thor and the beginning of the Avengers. He leaps into the bodies of people during important events, with the mission to right history’s wrongs, assisted by his buddy Al and Al’s machine, Ziggy.
Unfortunately, Loki is kind of a dick, so he just tells everyone to bow down and that he is burdened with glorious purpose between drinking appletinis and practicing beating people up with his staff.
Well, as I KNOW you know, because you are a nerd, there WAS an evil leaper, who was just sort of a douche and messed up lives. But she was a lady. Quit messin’ with the canon, LBT!
Loki bows to no one’s canon
Also, he doesn’t care HOW large that image is! You hear that, Thor? Loki does what HE wants!
Is it okay that I thought for a second you were talking about Batroc, the Leaper? Yes? Please?
Her name was Alia and Sam convinced her to stop doing evil. She was under the control of Lothos. She didn’t want to be the evil leaper!!
You believed her?!
The Avengers work at an evil law firm called Wolfram & Hart in downtown Los Angeles.
Hawkeye as “The Bachelor”, and some of the prospective women are secretly spies who betray him to their corporate superiors (and one of them is M.O.D.A.M.)
Tony Stark hosts a competitive bartending show on the Food Network called “Demon in a Bottle”
Everyone yells at Spider-Man for “One More Day.”
Some wounds never heal, Marvel. Some wounds never heal.
I’m still sore over Alicia being a Skrull, lilbob’s. I completely understand.
Thor trying to figure out what’s the deal with Loki’s weird bond with pigeons.
Two And A Half Iron Men
I would so watch Loki and Thor live in iApartment.
The X-Factor run where they are just a private detective agency would seem like a good fit for tv since it lends itself to case-of-the-week type episodes and most of their powers are pretty low budget (multiple people, singing loud, being strong, etc.)
Joss you can have this idea from me and run with it, I only want $$$$$$$$$$ in return
ANY ONE OF THESE SHOWS. I would watch them all.
the Dukes of Asgard.
Cancelled.
I get to date all the avengers. each episode is a different date.
