Hey guys! Just trying to get a quick gut check on how pumped everyone is for the planned Munsters remake on NBC. Pretty pumped? Very pumped? They just announced that Portia DeRossi will be playing Lilly, joining the already outstanding cast of Jerry O’Connell and Eddie Izzard. UH HI, HOW PUMPED ARE YOU? Really trying to get a sense of America’s pumped-ness for the Munsters. Honestly, I haven’t been this excited since the Farrelly brothers announced they were remaking the Three Stooges with Benicio Del Toro, Jim Carrey, and Sean Penn. And if Brian Greene is right and the multi-verse is real, then the one cold comfort we can take in this endless wasteland of pain and suffering is that somewhere out there in the darkest expanse of the limitless universe, there is an alternate planet Earth where that version of the Three Stooges is still the #1 move in America 100,000,000 weeks running. But we’re not here to talk about the Three Stooges remake (because what is there to talk about, we all agree it’s the best) we’re here to talk about the Munsters remake and to get a sense of the general level of being very pumped for it and loving the great cast playing all our best friends. My old boyfriend’s Cuban father used to love to watch The Munsters. You haven’t seen the joy that the Munsters can bring until you’ve seen a 60 year old Cuban man in tears unable to speak at the silly puns like when they ask Grandpa Munster what he was doing and he says “hanging around” and he literally WAS hanging around like a bat.

I wasn’t really thinking about watching it until they announced Portia de Rossi because Arrested Development and Better Off Ted. But now I’m guessing it’s worth a shot. You know, one shot per eye-rolling pun until I’m drunk enough that it’s funny.
Why is no one wondering who will be cast as Lurch?
Personally the more I hear about this show the less interested I am.

Since we’re on the subject of vampires and werwolf tv shows, has anyone seen the UK version of being human? or the US version? i’d love for Gabe to critique the US version.

Your assessment of my level of pumpedness is pretty much spot on. I’m PUMPED enough to use all caps, but not quite pumped enough to bother to figure out how to change the font size to make all my letters bigger. So I’m about that pumped. Fair?
