Just as a reminder, which may not actually be a reminder because I’m not sure if we’ve ever talked about it before, but I have seen rumblings in the comments, so just to make it clear, if anyone sees an animal video throughout the week that they’d like to submit for consideration in the (very hard to get into) (just kidding) (not hard) (it just has to be cute) (or funny) (or INCREDIBLE) (obviously) weekly top 10 Petting Zoo countdown, please email it to us! That would be great if you did that. The Petting Zoo is a team sport, after all. A team sport where I get to pick all the winners based on however I feel at that moment. I’ve never played any sports so I assume that’s generally how they all go. Anyway, so this week we have some great vids for you, no duh, include TWO videos of animals on treadmills, which are not generally my thing, but these two are pretty great. So let’s get to them! A VERY controversial pick for my first choice, I know, since it’s the baby that’s the cute star and not really the animals. But, my gosh, that baby is incredible! So. CONGRATULATIONS BABY! YOUR BIG HEADED HUG IS JUST THE BEST! Number two is a dog on a bike because dogs on bikes will never not be included in the top five, duh. You can hardly beat a dog on a bike, unless, of course, you are a baby hugging goats. Puppy tries to swim is just a fun summer animal vid, and penguin meets a man is just a touching life experience. The dog on a treadmill is funny because it’s standing up. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS!

When I saw that that baby video was 1:56 long at first I definitely thought I’d stop watching after about 30 seconds, but NOPE. Watched the whole, entire thing. And it was the BEST.

I was saving that one for a video of a dog wearing a tie baking in an office but I’m afraid that day might never come.
Was that dog riding a bike real or did I just run a dangerously high fever?
That sleepy dog and I must be both suffering from that 2:30 feeling because I looked EXACTLY LIKE THAT while I watched the video.
I guess it was fairly placed at the end of the list, but I really liked Tomato Cat. I just think it’s super funny when animals like something strange (for them). The best was Bear, my totally awesome dog that I had while I was growing up. (RIP Bear, you were the best dog ever!) He loved apple cores. Seriously. He didn’t really care for whole apples, but if you were eating one he’d go fucking nuts–to the point where he’d just start drooling all over the place. I’m sure that if we had set up a plate with a 46 oz raw steak on it next to a pile of shitty apple cores, Bear would’ve attacked the cores first.
Also, I knew a cat that was super into ketchup. If you weren’t looking, she’d take a paw and gingerly touch the ketchup on you’re plate and lick it off. Repeat until noticed.
So, yeah, Tomato Cat. Good cat. Good video.

on that first treadmill video I was like “okay, another treadmill video” but then i saw the THIRD DOG in the background who clearly wants to win, man, he looks excited! great job, third dog! Tomato Cat? keep loving those tomatoes! And Dog Trying To Swim – you’ve got it! So adorable!
That’s exactly what I was thinking! Boo more treadmill dogs, but that third dog surprise and the clitty-clack on their paws won my heart over. Give those dog as a treat! They’ve earned it!
