This is just disgusting news, folks, and I’m sorry that you have to hear it this way, but I do think you’d agree that it’s better to know what we’re up against so we can properly fight it together. Once again, the liberal media is force-feeding our malleable children their left-wing ideals right under our noses, through seemingly harmless children’s movies. Radical ideals like fairness, providing help to those who need it, and being environmentally conscious. UGH, THOSE LIBERAL BUFFOONS! Luckily we don’t have to push our children blindly into the murky depths of liberal Hollywood. No, we have someone looking out for us, ready and able to takle the problem of both B. Hussein Obama’s The Secret World Of Arriett and B. Hussein Obama’s The Lorax. That someone is Lou Dobbs, with Fox News. THANK YOU, LOU DOBBS!
Phew. Glad we were able to catch this before our children were made to believe that people should have to pay a fair amount of taxes relative to their income, fairness should be a priority in all aspects of life, and environmental protection is something worth looking into. (Via VVV.)

Yup, The Lorax is liberal in its hippie, pro-environment stance. But shouldn’t this be filed under “Duh Afficianado?” It’s is a metaphor for conservationism intentionally written at a level that a child can understand, I feel like we don’t need the news to point that out.
I love how “pro-environment” is now a partisan trait.
I think it’s more the anti-consumption angle that is divisive.
What a weird thing to downvote! I wasn’t even giving an opinion on this, I was merely stating that it is a topic of debate.
So you meant “controversial,” not “divisive.” Divisive is intrinsically negative, which certainly implies an opinion.
Objectivity is a liberal plot.
Yes, but we do need them to point out that the very idea of conservation is en extremist plot against…somebody that is designed to accomplish…something nefarious.
We have to destroy the planet in order to save our children
Man, between the Condom Incident and these startling revelations, The Lorax is shaping up to be the most controversial movie of the decade!
Wait until it hits the news that they cast a white man as the Lorax, a part that was originally written as a Lorax.
Danny DeVito isn’t a Lorax?!
Nope, ironically enough, he more closely resembles a tree stump.
Danny DeVito is not an actual Lorax?
lorax jinx
Danny Darko
Pickpocket speaks for the spider boners, as the spider boners have no tongues.
Especially when a star of the movie brings a condom to the premiere. Won’t someone please think of the children?!
It’s kinda funny how this guy’s anti-sharing agenda has gone viral.
Now kids are going to grow up and marry trees, slippery slope
“Awesome” – Treebeard
“I’m slippery” – A slope
I do not watch clips from Fox at work.
For my colleagues would think that I’m a jerk.
And a word jerk deserves not even a smirk.
Umm…. Lou Dobbs is an asshole.
No one was up in arms about the communists smurfs…
Go fuck yourself, Lou Dobbs.
Keep fucking that liberal agenda, Lou Dobbs.
Would that these movies could counter-indoctrinate the children of Fox News families.

OMG, do you want to hear the saddest thing? I’m out in my Brooklyn ‘hood, walking the dog, more-or-less minding my own business, when I see what is (presumably) a father and his grade-school aged son leaving their car and heading out to the park. And the father literally says to the son, “Do you want to bring Arguing With Idiots [which is a Glenn Beck book] or [some other partisan tract whose title I can't remember]?” Like, that’s what they were going to do on their picnic, discuss how liberals are ruining America.
As I stood there like “whaaaaa?” I noticed he had a bumper sticker that said “I’d rather be in Arizona.” This was right after they passed that “ask brown people for their papers” law.
I was just flabbergasted that somebody would love partisan politics so much that he would make it the focus of his family recreational time. I mean, religion I can understand, many a boring hour of my youth was spent discussing Jesus and stuff, but politics? Baaaaarf.
Wait, wait, wait. These wackos have infiltrated BROOKLYN???
I still haven’t gotten over the Muppets ‘report’ where the lady went off on Communism then asked what happened to the wholesome Sesame Street messages about sharing.
Seriously, I have not gotten over that. The idiocy and piss-poor pundit research still irks me.
Hollywood is not in Japan.
YES! Exactly.
The messages of these films comes from their adaptations that are over 40 and over 60 years old. How nice that so many decades later, it is some fringe lunatic left-wing agenda to give a shit about other people and our environment. What wonderful progress we’ve made!
Not meant to be a reply! Bleh.
Also it’s “The Secret world of Arrietty”. Sorry, Kelly!
wait, but, so, i watched a longer version of this earlier today (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuFcWkFJZgk&feature=youtu.be) and in it one of the pundits actually advocates leaving trash in the movie theaters to…discourage people from seeing it? or something?
very adult. very responsible. very cool activism.
I get it, because Danny Devito is The Lorax and that sounds like something Frank Reynolds would do
Also, what a dumb shit. Employees clean the theaters in between screenings! So basically that pundit is like, “make teenage, minimum-wage theater employees hate conservative audiences going to see the Lorax in protest so they can leave trash everywhere. Trash that was over-priced theater concessions.”
yeah, plus, if they go see it just to leave trash, they’re still buying a ticket, sooo…very effective anti-Lorax plan. good job, that guy.
I get it, they have 24 hours to fill and every minute they give to the leading GOP candidates is just another chance for them to shoot themselves in the foot, but this is so fucking stupid because it’s a kids movie and of course the “agenda” is going to lean a little towards “take care of the world around you and treat others as you would want to be treated” which I guess is a liberal agenda now because the GOP dudes actually booed the Golden rule recently.
Anyway, fox news is just saying that kids movies should all be pro-big business and pro-gun ownership.
Also, they should fire those people cleaning up the theaters and give that job to poor school children. And something about colonizing the moon where no one will be forced to pay for contraceptives for other people and everyone gets forced ultrasounds, and have to show their IDs to vote and also to not be deported off the moon. That will somehow fix the economy.
Ughhh. LOU. I know you get to die in 15 years or so, but the rest of us are going to have to live here for a while. Please leave.
I know we like to talk about how the other side feels when presidents sing, etc, but this baffles me way more. “This asshole thinks we should pay our fair share of taxes??!!!?!” I don’t understand. Aren’t the conservatives all about bootstraps and hard work and the American Dream? Doesn’t this involve rich people paying taxes too? The idea of people who make more money paying a smaller percentage of their income to the government than those who are barely scraping by is just ludicrous to me, I really can’t wrap my head around the argument for it.
Well, except that it’s made by rich people who don’t want to pay taxes… But it’s also endorsed by poor people who would be getting a lot more out of life if rich people paid what they owed, right? Which maybe falls in with the reason why communism isn’t likely to be supported even by the poorest (because they want a chance to be stinking rich even if it means that they will likely suffer for ever and ever and ever)?
It makes my head hurt.
Dr. Suess is the new Dr. Spock.
Can Lou Dobbs be Worf?
Make it so.
Lou Dobbs’ grandkids must love visiting grandpa’s house.
“You want to watch what, sweetie? Wall-E? More like Comm-E. How about that DVD over there.”
“Awww, not Atlas Shrugged again.”
I can only pray, for their own sake, that conservatives never discover Aesop.
good job fox BUSINESS. definitely not political at all.
I always knew Obama was in Dr. Seuss’ ear while he wrote the Lorax. Damn time-traveling or 10 year old Obama.
The great thing about America is, conservatives are perfectly free to make a charming cartoon which will teach kids that raping the environment is necessary if we’re to ensure consumer culture expands rapidly enough to finance multiple indefinite wars against states which may or may not sponsor terrorism. Stop complaining, conservatives, and get in the game!
BOOOOO fairness! Booooo trees! Down with sharing! I honestly don’t understand taking issue with what seem like pretty basic and, dare I say, Christian ideals and more importantly, what is the counter argument these people are teaching their children? “Litter as much as you can and don’t share with your classmates; they didn’t do anything to earn that green crayon that they seem so intent on using” File under good parenting 101
“My name is Lou Dobbs / I speak for the jerks / I use dumb rhetoric and whatever works / I speak for the right, for the right has no brains / And I’m asking you, America, I am taking great pains / That film! That horrible film on the screen! / Our children might learn that it’s not nice to be mean!” -Dr. Seuss
How Dobbs gets from point A to point C is truly mind bending.
Have you seen the preview? The world without any plant life looks absolutely beautiful. I think it’s a travesty of the book that Foxites would love.
What’s with all the hub-bub anyway? The environmental thing is a total sideline to the movie’s primary concept. It’s all about a teenager trying to get laid. Everyone remembers how Dr. Suess loved using that storyline in his books.
The Al Gore sanctimonious levels were toxic, the eco-hypocrisy cloying, and the movie pales from the original book and cartoon version, but I give it a C+
