OH, WHAT A NIGHT! Thursday night! How about that 30 Rock, huh? Gabe says he hated it and that if it had been the first time he was watching 30 Rock, he would never watch 30 Rock again. “VERY bad,” is how he described it. I would describe it as, “I was eating birthday cake and it seemed fine?” Though I would agree that it was a throw-away episode in a pretty big way, in that it was kind of garbage-y, but also Steve Buscemi was in the episode for a for a minute! Which was a great amount of time for him to be in the episode! Listen, I don’t know. 30 Rock is difficult to judge lately because I can tell that it’s rarely very good, but my heart and brain have already decided that they like 30 Rock, plus sometimes it’s my birthday when I watch it. So let’s talk about Parks and Recreation, with returning special guest Louis CK! I know that was good! Right? Not the best episode of the season but still enjoyable! Except if Leslie was my girlfriend and she invited her ex-boyfriend to our fancy dinner, I would have been MUCH more upset about it. “HOW DARE YOU?” is what I would have said. Haha, I was actually really annoyed by that in a way that is maybe only telling of my own personality flaws. “NO ONE IS THAT ‘SWEET’, LESLIE. THAT’S JUST WEIRD. LET HIM EAT A BURRITO.” Super mad. But, man, that show is good every week! What a wonderful bunch of characters they’ve got. Wasn’t it anyone else’s birthday yesterday? The Office was fine. Under my Blog School Yearbook photo I would like the quote, “The Office was fine.” “The Office was fine, at least that new girl didn’t try to sleep with Jim yet.” Thank you. Goodnight!

Do I even need to say what the best part of the night was?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
I think I’m the only one that liked 30 Rock last night. My bf thought it was just OK too…I thought the batman parody was terrific, but I really loved Parks & Rec with Louis CK.
Ugh, 30 Rock was the worst thing on last night and that includes an Office that featured Donna Noble.
Sounds like someone still misses Martha Jones.
I just downvoted you as I rather liked Donna Noble.
Yeah that’s right. DOWNVOTED.
I liked Donna too! She was no Rose or Amy Pond, but I thought their relationship was pretty funny.
Rose is a hussy. Donna4eva.
Gabe is just upset that his subway train suddenly went express

This pissed me off the most. Any self respecting New Yorker knows that if people try to crowd on before letting you off, you are within rights to violently push past them, with the option of saying “Excuse Me” at a volume of 3 to 4 decibels louder than would be considered polite.
Chicago has that weird group of assholes that refuse to move all the way into the car. Unless you’re getting off at the next stop stop blocking the doorway. Those people get a good elbowing from me. Jerks.
This is so true. I can’t tell you how many elbows I throw on a day-to-day basis on the CTA.
The worst though is when you’re on the inside seat and the person sitting next to you doesn’t stand to let you out, but turns their legs into the aisle. When people do that to me I make a real effort to hit them in the face with my purse.
that still doesn’t change the fact that it’s idiotic! they always crowd, and it always makes the train go more slowly!
i don’t get it!
I have stopped being polite and started getting real on the subway – my new year’s resolution. I will just push people out of the way if they’re coming on and I’m getting off. I don’t care if I’m rude. On a related topic – I need to rant: I also refuse to hold EVERYONE up by letting every single woman on to an elevator first. This makes me insane. It’s like hey straight boy you aren’t gonna hit that so why be out of the way polite and make me wait forever to get on. If I’m closer to the door I’m going in first – that’s logical. I’m not going to make a big issue out of making sure every woman gets on safely or not. If a woman in NYC can’t get on an elevator without the help of a man then she should be at Bellevue. You should focus your energy more on the attack on women’s body rights not whether or not you look like a gentleman because I think you look like a desperate ass!
Also, if I’m closer to the door I’m exiting first. Why should I NOT??????
I get on elevators every day, and it’s pretty much a free-for-all.
so jealous!
Do you happen to have a commence snow dogs phase gif?
Sadly I dont. But here’s a gif from snow dogs:

Florida Stanley Lives Fast and Leaves a Good Looking Corpse
But seriously, how great was it to see Louis CK awkwardly explaining things to the camera again? The greatest, obviously.
My favorite line of 30 Rock last night was Jack talking about “Angry Irishman Magazine, the only magazine published in all caps”
Wow, I didn’t catch that the mug was a Duke Silver mug at all. I was too busy laughing at Andy’s comment about how tea is gross.
And I also figured April would break his mug anyway because that seems like a thing she would do, I guess?
I really want a Duke Silver mug. Get on it, NBC. And then charge me a billion dollars in border fees. That would be great. My Troy and Abed in the Morning mug is lonely.
I think that this moment was my favorite part of the night, and I’m not sure why. But I laughed and laughed and laughed…
the cutest!!
Oh adorable TV boyfriend…
Can’t believe you didn’t post a .gif of Jim falling out of the closet at the end of the cold open.
I need to adjust my medications.
Wow totally missed the Lost reference until right now.
Parks and Recs might have been my second favorite episode of the season (i’m not sure if anything of everything ever will be able to top the montage of Leslie and her team trying to go across the ice with the repeating loops of “GET ON YOUR FEET!”, ) Louis CK and Adam Scott just nailed their awkwardness so well. I loved Ben’s constant fear of cops.
Only thing missing was Champion.
I’m opening up the Vampire Diaries corner today because I actually got to watch the episode the day it aired for once!
I’m gonna be so mad if Elijah really leaves town. They keep taking him away from us. My little heart can only take so much.
Also, Bonnie continues to be a total waste of space, while Caroline continues to be delightful.
Also if you’re involved in an evil plot to kill a bunch of people in Mystic Falls, then maybe, just maybe, you shouldn’t leave evidence, including a murder weapon, on your kitchen table. Just in case your boyfriend spends the night. Just saying.
Yeah, they had better do something to make the plotline interesting pretty soon. I love Alaric and all, but he’s been actually like a real moron ever since Meredith came into the picture.
I want a scene where Elijah and Alaric sit at the bar and argue over who’s died the most times.
I feel like Ric should spend more time listening to his best guy pal Damon… Sister was obviously not right.
Dude what saddens me is the idea that Elijah probably won’t see the end of this season. BREAKS my heart as he is the best.
Also can he and Elena get together? They could be my favorite couple ever.
Also do we think that Ric is gonna be all dead like?
Elena + Elijah is definitely better than Elena + either Salvatore. I like both Stefan and Damon but the love triangle is starting to get a little played out.
There’s no way Alaric is dead. Meredith is probably some kind of supernatural bitch so his ring will save him for the millionth time. They’ve killed him so many times that it’s like the boy who cried wolf. Or the history teacher who cried “Ouch, you killed me!”
So, on Jersey Shore, Danny was mad at the meatballs so they made him a cake to apologize. Then, overnight, Pauly D ate a piece of the cake, but everyone thought it was Mike. Can you say DRAMA? Later, Pauly D and Vinny went to lunch and Vinny lost the keys but then found them, like 2 minutes later!
I started watching the Office again recently and I feel like it’s been funnier than it has been in a couple of years. Last night’s episode almost made me laugh as much as Season 2/3 the Office. Granted, I feel more indifference about what happens plot-wise in the Office now than I did then (or than I do now with Parks and Rec, where I really hope Leslie wins that city council seat), but still, laughing is nice.
It took me a while to figure this out, but I finally realized that the episodes with James Spader are pretty awful, whereas the ones without him (or with a minimal amount of him) are fairly decent.
But even the best ones that make me laugh (out loud, even), don’t compare to any episode with Steve Carrel in it. I miss Michael Scott.
Carell*
I AM SO ASHAMED.
Can we talk about Up All Night. Very enjoyable. Though, I thought Reagan was particularly put out of the way to be selfish this episode, I thought it was better than 30 Rock, which is spinning its wheels.
Open thread? Don’t mind if I do.

Ah, the elegant dinner party for the most elegant people in all of New York!
Is Krieger hard at work in there?
He literally might be, yes.
I enjoyed the nod to Clue (the movie) with the dinner party on Archer.
30 Rock was FINE! Gabe’s standards are weird and often contradictory, as are everybody’s!
