The red-band trailer for Paul Rudd and Jason Segel’s new comedy, I Love You, Man, came out this weekend. It’s similar to the regular trailer, but with some extra funny stuff at the end, and also the F word:

But I actually laughed pretty hard at this trailer. That’s not a typical trailery thing! Good.
I will definitely be seeing this.
I wonder if Jim regrets choosing Pam now…..hmm.
They had me at “Marry him. Lock that tongue down, girl”. And also, Paul Rudd.
Paul Rudd + Andy Samberg = CRAZY DELICIOUS.

pretty much the same reason well aside from the whole adoring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel thing.

And on goes the proliferation of the Bromantic Comedy genre.

And then I knew that Paul Rudd was my favorite actor.
I’m definitely up for any film that features a Tom Lennon tongue-fucking.
So now all you have to do is have Paul Rudd in a movie for it to be awesome? The premise of this movie doesn’t really make sense: Paul Rudd’s character has a brother, so wouldn’t he just be his best man? Also, I highly doubt the ratio of oral sex-giving would be that lopsided–that’s a joke usually reserved for old-married-people shows like Everybody Loves Raymond.
The thing is, it’s not about the content here, it’s the delivery.
I’m pretty sure I could have bitched about the apparent plot holes, but for some reason I laughed at this trailer. I laughed a lot.
It’s all in the delivery.
