Tired of being absurdly funny and contemplating jumping out of his Madison Avenue window, the ad man who heads up the Skittles account instead decided to enter his David Lynch period. His not-funny-at-all David Lynch period. This is not like the other Skittles commercials. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?:
Why would that be–? What? I give up. Maybe someone will translate and an explanation will become clear, but I doubt it. (Via Coilhouse.)

let the dorm room philosophizin’ begin! “it’s all like about how we’re all a reflection of each other and like who’s the reflection? are you the reflection or am i? i need to sit down for a second. yer blowin’ my mind, skittles.”
So my old roomie wrote this commercial. I can assure you that he was not philosophizing. It’s a tailor who has people in his mirrors who aren’t the person being measured! Simple as that. Then there is a fight and the “mirror” is kicked and it is revealed that…wait. I’m lost. If you knew the guy, it would be funny. Trust me. He also did the amazing “Skittles touch” commercial. Google THAT! Have fun at dinner.

I like your tie.
Kyle, you are my hero for including that “have fun at dinner.” I laughed and laughed.
this commercial is awesome.
How don’t you like this commercial? I love this commercial.
I’m Philippine-American. I can translate the guy in the reflection saying, “cuz I’m hungry…I’m hungry…please don’t tell me not to… this is what I want to eat”. Now the tailor, I reckon is speaking another Philippine dialect that I don’t understand too well except for maybe the line that translates “then eat something else”. And his gesture only tells me, “don’t make me go in there”. I hope this helps.
