Here is the Wikipedia entry concerning T.I.’s troubles with the law, and his upcoming prison sentence:
On October 13, 2007, federal authorities arrested T.I. four hours before the BET Hip-Hop Awards[35]. He was charged with two felonies — possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. The arrest was made in the parking lot of a downtown shopping center, which a witness identified as the Walgreens drug store at the corner of North and Piedmont Avenues. Harris was arrested after allegedly trying to purchase the guns from a “cooperating witness” with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. According to federal officials, the witness had been cooperating with authorities since Wednesday, when he was arrested on charges of trying to purchase guns from a federal agent. The witness had been working as Harris’ bodyguard since July, authorities said.[36][37] T.I. walked out of the Atlanta United States District Court after appearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan J. Baverman on October 26, 2007. Judge Alan J. Baverman required T.I. post a $3 million bond, $2 million in cash and $1 million in equity on property he owns. The rapper was required to remain at home except for medical appointments and court appearances. The only people allowed to live with him were his girlfriend and children. Visitors were required to be approved by the court. T.I.’s suppression hearing was originally stated for January 3, 2008; however, U.S. Magistrate Alan J. Baverman pushed back the suppression hearing until February 19, 2008. The performer later pleaded guilty to US federal weapons charges. He will serve a year in jail beginning in March 2009 after completing 1,000 hours of community service.[38]
Did you read it? Well then can you tell me where it says that completing 1,000 hours of community service as part of your sentence for the illegal purchase of machine guns with silencers must include A REALITY SHOW ON MTV?
Whoops. I’m pretty sure the title cards in this trailer are messed up. Here, I fixed them:
What Would You Do
If You Had One Last Chance At Redemption
Because On Your Way To An Awards Ceremony
You Decided To Make A Quick Stop
To Try And Buy Machine Guns With Silencers
Because You’re A Fucking Idiot
And You Only Had 45 Days Left
You Stupid, Stupid, Fucking Idiot
There we go.

Surprisingly enough, the TV show isn’t his community service.
Although this entire year whenever TI has popped up I yell “WHY ARE YOU NOT IN PRISON WHAT THE FUCK US FEDERAL COURTS”
I’m glad both of you would rather see someone capable of making a difference put in jail rather than being out there making that difference. We all fuck up! Stereogum did when they launched this site and put Gabe in charge but hey they are making the best of it and seeing some positive things happen.
1:29 was my LOLdog Millionaire.
I am seriously trying to get all my friends to wear a certain color on the day T.I. goes to jail to show our solidarity.
If your best friend gets shot to death sitting in the same car as you by people who were most likely aiming for you, you’re telling me you wouldn’t take measures to protect yourself- or at least understand why someone would?
That makes T.I. “a fucking idiot?”
Are you kidding me? You can’t be serious.
Guns beget guns. I may be dreaming this up in my ivory tower, but I expect that most gunfire is the result of two guns being pointed at each other, rather than one gun being pointed at no gun…
I appreciate that TI might be able to change 7 lives, and I hope it works out. But I also think he deserves to be punished for breaking the law. Guns are what make most violent crime possible. And machine guns with silencers? There’s nothing defensive about a silenced machine gun. A silencer exists only to surprise one’s victim or to elude detection by passersby. I mean, a silencer almost implies necessarily that TI planned to fire his guns. A bullet-proof vest would have been a defensive purchase, not a silenced machine gun.
Yeah, silenced machine guns are not protection, they’re just not. Dude’s a millionaire. Get a handgun, shotgun, whatever, get a registered one. It’s not hard. He’s got lawyers, he’s got assistants, he’s got maids, he’s got personal bathers, his house is like the palace in Zmunda, dude can get people to get shit done for him. Why go buy silenced machine guns in the Walgreens parking lot? Because being a platinum rap star is just a cover, dude was a secret agent, but now the agency’s acting like he doesn’t exist. And after he dedicated his life to their cause, was that worth anything to them?!?!
I know that when I’m thinking of ways to protect myself, the first thing that comes to mind is “illegal silencer equipped machine guns”. There aren’t any other kinds of guns available to purchase in the U.S., are there? Hell, even if there were, I wouldn’t want potential witnesses hearing me “protecting myself”. It’s all perfectly logical, really.
EmanuelV are you an idiot? It doesn’t matter if his friend, mom, cousin, brother, hairdresser, and dog got shot “in the same car” as he was sitting. We have laws in this country regarding guns that are there to protect ME as well as YOUR dumb ass.
These stupid “rappers” and their disgusting and demoralizing lyrics make me sick. It makes me sick to hear my 11-year-old niece say that she likes the song “Lollipop” by that piece of shit “Lil Wayne”. These fucking ignorant, uneducated, disgusting wastes of human organs are teaching our children that women are best used as walking drunk vaginas, and a man is required only to throw money at women and have as much sex as possible.
Shall I get off my soapbox now or continue?
