Somebody found this 2001 video of our future President on a Dinner For Five-type show about restaurants called “Check, Please!” and put it on YouTube. In this episode, Barack orders the Southern Sampler at Dixie Kitchen in Chicago and reminds everyone to save room for the peach cobbler. He doesn’t seem to have changed at all since then:
After the jump, part two of this video (Which has like no views so far? Weird!) where Barack uses his restaurant review appearance to promote small businesses on the South Side of Chicago.
Just a caveat: since the first video was linked on bad websites (like hate sites), the comments aren’t fun to read or even glance at. Who knew something as universally adored as PEACH COBBLER could be controversial to some people? It’s peach cobbler. We all love it. Pick your battles, YouTube-commenters.

I love the Dixie Kitchen. Barack and I have something in common now.
They are all so happy! But how could you not be delighted with life when you get to ponder the beauty of peach cobbler and corn cakes?

This is the most surreal thing i have ever seen. It’s almost like a parody. But it’s not. Barack Obama is actually spreading his message of good decently priced food available at The Dixie Kitchen.
The man that smiles when he talks about corn cakes, is going to lead the country.
Right now, at this very moment, this is the greatest thing in the world.
at least we know he has a supporter in Jeff Goldblum, who as we all know, likes the peach pie.

Big surprise that Bush likes peach cobbler. I bet Hitler liked cobbler.
Of course Bush likes cobbler. All of his crony Skull and Bones friends are invested in Peach Cobbler producers and distributors.
You think George Bush is just a man that “can appreciate good food”? Ask yourself this: Why would GW make a point to go on a broadcasting station and announce a love of peach cobbler? Who stands to benefit?

What do you know, I’ve finally found something to like about Obama. Our local paper has the recipe for it in today’s edition. I’m going to make it to take to work Tuesday to make his coronation more tolerable. I may can fault him for a lot of things politically, but I must admit his taste in food is pretty good.
