- As you may have heard, HBO canceled Bored To Death, Hung, and How To Make It In America. They renewed Enlightened, which I watched one time, and it was bad. R.I.P. Gabe’s chances of ever having a HTMIIA cameo. It’s a sad day for all of us. -Deadline
- Ryan Gosling, Zooey Deschanel, and other celebrities all got together in a library one night, I assume, and wrote a letter to McDonalds about their suppliers cruelty towards animals. It does include the phrase “I’m hatin’ it,” just in case you were wondering whether or not it included that phrase. -WashingtonPost
- Whoopie Goldberg says her fart from last week wasn’t a fart. HAH! The only worse thing than it actually being a fart is bringing it up again to deny that it was a fart. C’moonn. -Mediaite
- If her Christmas greeting wasn’t enough for you, Celebuzz has put together a wonderful Courtney Stodden 2011 retrospective for you to look at, and keeping looking at, and never stop looking at forever. Enjoy! -Celebuzz
- Sean Penn and Maria Conchita Alonso got into a fight at an airport about Hugo Chavez. Maria called Sean a communist and Sean called Maria a pig. And then they were like is there EVEN a Cinnabon here or…? Thank you, goodnight! -Dlisted
- Here is a video of a kid getting his tooth pulled using a Nerf gun. Much like the humans eating each other video from earlier today, I have not and will not watch this video. GROSS! Do you want to see it, though? -TheDailyWhat
- Christopher Nolan is not really going to make it so you can understand what Bane is saying in The Dark Knight, but he will change it a little bit. “DAA WWAAF IT”-Bane. That was my written Bane impression of Bane saying, “deal with it.” -FilmDrunk
- What was the best TV episode of this year? Whitney at PopCandy has a few good picks but she leaves out, for some reason, the episode of Gossip Girl when everyone gets mad at Dan for how he portrayed them in Inside. Hahaha. Remember how he combined Nate and Erik into a character named Derek? VERY good. -PopCandy

I am weeping for Bored to Death. I take back every nice thing I’ve said about Laura Dern
Bored to Death and Enlightened could have coexisted peacefully, blame hbo not Laura Dern
Sorry. I still love Laura Dern forever because of Jurassic Park. I’ll blame Judd Apatow instead.
Laura Dern: Queen of the Ugly Crying Face
Whoops, sorry. That’s actually Mary-Louise Parker. Laura Dern is probably an elder princess, though.
Nope, Claire Danes is always and forever Queen of the Ugly Crying Face.
Um, it’s called “acting.”
Kelly
rewatch that episode of Enlightened and all the other ones, that show is the opposite of bad
That sounds suspiciously like the advice my stepfather gave me Re Big Bang Theory.
You’re right. And, directed by Jonathan Demme! Did you see Year of the Dog, because it’s a lot like Enlightened only with more Molly Shannon which is good.
Ditto. But Bored To Death will be missed.
I am so glad Ryan Gosling is starting to be so insufferable. Soon you’ll all be on board with my hatred.

You are.
Drive and Parks and Recreation told me that they once got drunk together and traveled back in time and kicked Baby Jesus in the head. That’s when he started hearing God. Also, they tipped some cows.
I don’t think they would ever hang out, to be honest.
Oh, great. A movie where you can’t understand what people are saying? America won’t have it. These guys know what I’m talking about.

I don’t know, I think people might be fine with a movie where you can’t understand the dialogue, just as long as there’s plenty of that old ultraviolence.

this is how I feel about the cancellations:

I might be sad that Bored to Death was cancelled, but I’m crying tears of joy to see Enlightened renewed (I didn’t think it would be). You should take back that mean thing you said about it.
Vulture already has a post about an H2MIIA movie.
Enlightened is very good, maybe you need to be enlightened.
Well, I guess this guy has his answer now: http://www.avclub.com/articles/ratings-roundup-whats-it-take-for-hbo-to-cancel-a,63803/
I know it wasn’t a VGum favorite but I really liked H2MIIA. Like, a lot. It felt light and I really liked the characters. I liked the pace and it was interesting…minus the rostamonster crap. I’ve had an awful day and this just tops it off. Ugh.
I just hope this time Nolan makes it so I can understand what Batman is saying.
I liked How to Make It in America. I have never seen a single episode, but it kept Kid Cudi from making music. Exceedingly bland, annoyingly ubiquitous music.
Bored To Death, Nooooo! Jonathan cannot keep sleeping with his half-sister for eternity!
At least Enlightened got renewed?
