Wow, the economy must really be suffering when a venture capital company makes a holiday card that involves no fake rap, no terrible sketches, and is actually pretty heartwarming! A company called First Round Capital was inspired by the viral meme Where The Hell Is Matt? and asked the employees of the 70 start-ups in their portfolio to submit video of themselves dancing. It’s really cute, especially the old people:

Lesson: entrepreneurs can’t dance, and corporate videos don’t have to suck. (Via Laughing Squid.)

  1. It took me a while to realize that guy was supposed to be in every clip. I was starting to think that every white guy over 45 looks the same.

  2. i just dayaked in my pants. am i using that word right?

  3. Companies I love are in there!
MODCLOTH! (At about :48) They’re super cute! And Winston the dog is in it! http://www.modcloth.com
And StumbleUpon (1:40) looks like a fun bunch to work with. Is it redundant if I submit this video to stumble upon?

  4. This is cute but most of these people are just running in place as opposed to dancing. Good effort though.

  5. My favorite is the British thigh-slapping dance!
But poor music choice, should’ve gone with “Single Ladies.”

I go to videogum to laugh AT others shortcomings (sorry Verne) not to get awkwardly choked up by corporate videos of multiple versions of the running man. Shame on you videogum (thank you videogum).

aww, that was totally great. my favorites are the guy dancing while holding his pug (what!) and the surpsisingly impressive footwork of the guy with the mi5 sign.

Ugh… My whole office is getting whipe out after the new year (YAY LIQUIDITY PROBLEMS!). My folks are scared to death, and most of my friends are expecting to lose their jobs within a few months. I’m not supposed to get choked up at work guys! Merry Christmas everyone, for serious.

  9. Yeah Elena, I was like wtf is this old guy in like 80% of these then I figured he’s probably an exec at the firm or something.
