- There is going to be a Joe Strummer biopic and Stereogum wants to know who should play him! Also I want to know! My vote goes to either Ted Leo or myself. -Stereogum
- There is going to be a Transformers ride at Universal Studios Singapore and you are so excited for it and you’ve already made plans to move to Singapore because you never want to be away from it, and now you can watch videos of it here! They are really pretty ridiculous videos! -SlashFilm
- A lady drunk drove into a ditch and her car was missing a wheel because her boyfriend reneged on his promise to take her to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Very dangerous! Do not do this, ladies! Dump your boyfriend and then go to the movie and find a better boyfriend there! I’m pretty sure showings of Twilight are where all the good ones are hiding anyway! -FilmDrunk
- Uhhhh so we haven’t posted it, but have you guys seen this Fenton/Benton video that has been going around other websites? No? Because you never go to other websites because you don’t care what anyone else has to say? Very good answer! But anyway here is a mashup of that video with Jurassic Park. -TheDailyWhat
- Amy Poehler was given an award last night and made a funny joke! I do not understand what the award is. Something about comedy, yay! -Celebuzz
- Hahahahaha aww, abuse having a role in a relationship in any way is horrible, obviously, that is for sure, but this anecdote about how Kris Humphries was mean to Kim Kardashian is just very good: “He would say truly terrible things. One time, he said she had no talent and her fame wouldn’t last.” He said WHAT?! -TheSuperficial
- It’s Scarlet Johansson’s 27th birthday! Movieline is talking about what her best role was and have appropriately included a clip from Ghost World. That movie! Remember that movie?! Remember how David Cross was in that movie? -Movieline
- Michele Bachmann was on Late Night last night and The Roots picked out a very good and special song for her intro. -Dlisted

Err, if the guy went back on a promise and the lady drove her car drunk into a ditch, it doesn’t sound like SHE’S the one who can do better there.
But wait, did you read about how he first said he was going to take her to see Twilight but then DIDN’T take her? Do you even know how to read?

I’m all lost in the kennel, I can no longer chew happily
If you’re out to get the kibble, you can’t go eating all the treats.
Should I stay, staaay, staaaaaay….. Good girl!
If they cast James Franco as Joe Strummer, I will cut a bitch.
Actually, I’ll probably just sulk and not see the movie, but you get the sentiment.
That was actually my first instinct about what would happen, and also about how disappointed I would be. I think they should probably just piece it together out of old footage of Joe Strummer himself because anything else would probably be sacrilege.
No one could ever possibly be as cool.
Don’t give me all the downvotes please but holy heck is Ghost World overrated garbage. Hated it. Except Steve Buscemi because duh.
I totally concur. It took me years to not hate ScarJo because of it. And only then, it was after we became super bffs and she explicitly asked me to call her ScarJo.
Um, am I the only one who finds the Late Night Michelle Bachman thing really offensive? Why even have her as a guest on your INTERVIEW show? And let’s be real: those kinds of liberties would not have been taken if Michelle Bachman were a man.
I’m sure they’ll play some horrible pervy song for Herman Cain. I know they will. So, while I agree with you, I will still be very excited about this if only because of Fishbone.
That was pretty much my first reaction. I definitely dislike her politics intensely, but she is just as bad as all the male crazies running for the Republican nomination and none of them were introduced on talk shows with songs meant to demean them based on their gender. Siiiighhhh…
I would give The Roots a pass on this one, considering that controversial Christianist marriage pledge Bachmann signed that had the clause about African American “families” being more stable under slavery. Bachmann is either duplicitous or deeply ignorant.
The woman is batshit insane, no doubt about it. But if you’ve decided that she is not abhorrent enough to leave out of your show’s lineup altogether, then you’d better suck it up and leave out the ad hominem attacks, especially passive-aggressive ones like the one in question; it would have been a whole ‘nother thing if Jimmy Fallon in his interview had just been like, “So, what’s the deal with your sketchy policy, Ms. Bachman?” And you can’t convince me that her male counterpart would have gotten the same treatment.
I do disagree. I wish I didn’t! But I think they would have afforded Santorum or Cain the same lack of respect, as would only be right. I want to be sensitive and I do understand that there’s unique bullshit women have to put up with as politicians, but I’m not really seeing the sexism in this instance.
Also, when I say “they” above, I’m referring to the band. It seems like it was their call, right? And it also seems like The Roots would be more likely to engage a guest politically (even if passive aggressively) than Fallon, which is why I don’t understand the reasoning that it would have been better for Fallon himself to confront Bachmann. He’s paid to interview who is placed beside him. Maybe he has some control over who comes on the show, but there’s no way that’s all up to him.
So does this mean the Strummer flick is basically going to be James Franco wandering around the streets of London, pontificating on the meaning of life, love and uh… sunrise (or sunset?)
SWINTON for Strummer. Make it so, universe.
(No, I will never stop. This brings me far too much joy.)
I can get behind that, actually.
OK NOW hear me out on this: Robert Pattinson 4 Strummer? For some reason I feel like that wouldn’t offend me and a lot of other young brunette actors really offend me.
strangely, that seems almost right… well, at the very least, pretty inoffensive.
I’ve never seen anything he’s done(besides Harry Potter, of course), but that has nothing to do with him, I guess.
Julie Delpy is a director?
