These are the REAL Peoples’ Choice Awards. I mean, you know, after the ACTUAL Peoples’ Choice Awards, which are a thing, and they probably own the rights to it, and I was just kidding don’t sue me Academy of People’s Choices and Sciences! What a year it has been, though, right? So many memories. None of them come to mind immediately, but, you know, if you think about it, we saw…a lot. And some of the stuff we saw…was better…than some of the other stuff…I think. And this is your chance to prove it! I don’t know! I got really confused and couldn’t remember what I liked and put Twilight: Breaking Dawn for every category.

by the way, I saw that new twilight movie, it had some serious LOLs going on.
at one point, the dracula family is talking about (spoiler alert) the unborn vampire baby in Kristy Stuart’s belly. One of the vampires calls it a fetus, which offends this other vampire girl who whines that it is in fact a baby. Then this girly boy vampire guy says, “Perhaps!” The whole theatre erupted in inappropriate laughter. That scene was not supposed to be funny but oh indeed it was funny.
one other serious LOL, the werewolf boy is worried that kristy stuart will die with the vampire baby and he whines that if she were to die then there would be no point to him wanting her and her wanting him. Hilarious… and yet true. Good point, whiny werewolf guy. Glad I saw this movie.
Oh god, nobody laughed at the Perhaps moment in my theatre. My friend and I couldn’t understand why nobody thought RPattz speaking in broken portuguese was hilarious either.
That’s not funny.

I really do feel like multiple choice would have been better. I just think that having to type out the answers means that some lazy people might just nominate Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds for everything because it’s easier to just keep cutting and pasting than think of new responses.

The jerkiness gets much much better by the end of the first season. Butttttttt then the story gets worse in the second season.

I’ve seen 2.25 movies in the theater this year. I would never nominate one-quarter of a movie, so it was between Drive and Bad Teacher. Wanna guess which one I went with?

I said Martha Marcy May Marlene because out of the 4 movies I’ve seen so far this year, that was my favorite. I was drunk when I saw Bridesmaids and didn’t think The Skin I Live In was that great. I was thinking about putting Drive but I need to see it again before I can make a call on whether it was the best of the year.
Just saw MMMM (easier to even type) (even after typing that parenthetical addendum) (somehow this is still easier to type than say the name of the film out loud). I have mixed feelings about it, but I loved how the ping-pong editing built tension. Is John Hawkes any good?! Yikes, I’m in love with that man. And thank god something positive came out of the Olsen offspring. Future force to be reckoned with, for sure.
Oh I saw Bridesmaids! I thought it was a 78. (I grade on a 100 point scale because there is a big difference between a seven and an eight but adding a decimal point is annoying.)
I really want to see MMM. I think I’ll see that and the sad George Clooney movie this weekend. And maybe the Muppets, depends what’s happening on the Internet.
Sadly the only movie I saw in a theatre in ALL OF 2011 was Rango. And I did. not. like. Rango.
My guess, even though I haven’t seen it yet though I will, is that Take Shelter will be my favourite movie. Unless Batman comes out in 2011. Does it? Batman is definitely preemptively my favourite movie of every year, any Batman (except Clooney and some of Val Kilmer)
Fun conversation I had today that is in no way related: when PROBABLY SPOILER ALERT YOU GUYS Bane breaks Batman’s back, like I feel fairly certain will happen, and someone else reboots the series with Batman Beyond, who should play Terry McGinnis?

Destroyer’s Kaputt was released ALL THE WAY back in January, and I still listen to it regularly, so that’s my pick as far as music goes.
