Paramount is having a little fun with the annual season of For Your Consideration ads leading up to the big movie award nominations, mounting a new “campaign” for the Tropic Thunder character Kirk Lazarus, played by Robert Downey, Jr. And you know what? It’s not tiring or old. It’s still really funny. RDJ should get a nomination just for the Satan’s Alley trailer alone. Here’s the “TV spot”:

But from his latest round of puff interviews, RDJ doesn’t sound so far from his Kirk Lazarus character. Example: “Why am I having this year?” He ponders…” I’m just sayin’…simmer down, Robert Downey, Jr. Simmer down.
