Plus it’s anti-semitic.
Where was all this conviction when you read the script for The Phantom Menace, Frank?
Or either of the following prequels? Let’s not excuse this oversight to JUST Phantom.
Waldorf: Did ya hear? Frank Oz says the new script doesn’t respect the characters!
Statler: Who does?
Waldorf and Statler: OOOOOOHHH HO HO HO HO HO HOOOO!!!
Actual excerpt from the new movie:
Waldorf: Did ya hear? Frank Oz says the new script doesn’t respect the characters!
Statler: That’s a reasonable opinion, coming from a man who has worked so closely with the franchise. I don’t think it would be proper for us to attack this man for merely expressing his opinion.
Waldorf: Indeed.
Facetaco doesn’t respect the “reply” button.
Also, this is the third reply error I’ve seen today. It’s Friday, huh?
Remember when Marlon Brando would only call him Miss Piggy?
I haven’t seen the movie, or even really seen a full trailer yet. But I agree with Frank.
Did they make the movie in Swedish or something?
bork bork bork!
whoops. should’ve refreshed.
That makes me sad. I hope it is an overreaction though because this movie looks so cute and I am so excited.
Me too! I can’t wait.
Ditto! I love and respect the Muppets and would want Frank Oz to approve. But then again I want to marry Jason Segel. It’s a tough call.
I like that the article notes that none of the former “muppets insiders” have seen the movie. Though, Frank Oz did read a draft of the screenplay apparently.
P.S. The article also notes that a muppet movie written and directed by Oz fell out of favor after Segel pitched his vision for a Muppets relaunch… so there’s that.
