Hellooooo, ladies! How are you? How is your hair? Terrible and you never know what to do with it, and even after you pay someone to do it it still looks bad so you’ve pretty much given up? Me too! So obviously a video showing hairstyles from people who knew exactly what to do with their hair from cavewoman times until current times is great. The hairstyles are cool, it’s only four minutes long, and it kind of makes you feel like you understand history. I admit, there’s a part where they change hairstyles behind a fan did make me unreasonably upset (as it ruined the conceit of the entire video, HELLO), but I’m willing to look past it. I’m also willing to look past the Moby soundtrack. Something I am unwilling to look past, though, is the fact that after the ’80s they kind of just give up? Have there been NO definitive hairstyles since then? What about the alternative hairstyles of the ’90s? What about at least those? Barring those, though, it may be true that there have been no definitive hairstyles since then. What a boring group of people we all are. So why not take a poorly photoshopped (not “photoshopped” for real, but, you know) cutout of the lady in the video and invent one that we can all wear together until it becomes a thing? Great!
Yeah, because we’ve ALL just had long slightly wavy hair since the ’80s ended and then we put on a scarf, give me a break. Ok, so here is your template:

As always, I will be using SumoPaint to make mine because I am a professional. So here it goes:

Looking gooooooooood! (Via BuzzFeed.)

What is even going on here?? At 3:06 in the video I just completely lost it.
Why would Moby be involved in a video about people with hair?
The most awkward hair years are the years when the style is to have the ribbons half across your scalp. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about…
“Have you seen the Rick Perry campaign video? Heard Bachmann’s views on cervical cancer treatment? The GOP’s views on abortion and a woman’s right to choose? I have, and henceforth have no need for a haircut”-Women, and people in general.
What about The Rachel? Jennifer Aniston’s just not getting any respect these days.

Excuse me, but I think you misspelled

I hate it when people don’t spell womyn correctly.
Wait a minute. This isn’t a trampoline accident or a Ryan Gosling update. What website am I on?
Never say never
You argument is invalid?
i drew several styles that were popular in my middle school in 1999.
this is what i was trying to go for. like rachel leigh cook. my hair never stuck out in the right directions and the chunking made me look like the bride of frankenstein.
this look was sported by popular girls who had boyfriends and played field hockey.
i was unable to achieve this look because i dont have curly hair and those headbands hurt my head. this features a bonus choker from a vending machine.
this final look is something the scary girls did. they had boyfriends and played field hockey as well.
underside of the head shaved and then you could wear it down and look normal or wear it up and start some shit.
they were apparently ahead of the curve though, as it seems plenty of gals shave the side of their head these days.
True story: I had this haircut when I was 14 (I am a dude). My inspiration? The lead singer of ‘Bad Radio’, a shitty local SD band that played at our freshman dance. His name was Eddie and he really cared about homeless people and I thought he was cooler than Bono. Shortly thereafter he went to Seattle and started some other band called Pearl Jam or something, and grew out the bottom half of his hair. He changed, man.
Also, I am old.
omg a real band played your dance??? how did you seductively grind on each other?
Seductive grinding hadn’t been invented yet. We just did the Charleston.
Your story about various jr high hairstylery, complete with illustrations, has literally been the best thing about my day. Thank youuuuuuu!
also after chunking i donated my hair to locks of love and had a pixie cut that i wore with fancy bobby pins!!! it briefly created male interest in me, i won a student of the week award for bravely donating my hair, and my mother to this day asks me if i am a lesbian.
You guys have all done a great job.
That’s a Moby song. Ech, Moby is to women like Moby is to anything.
Btw, I don’t know what this video is about – one attractive woman can wear many different hairstyles?
HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO USE THIS PICTURE TO DO THE QUINTESSENTIAL NEW MILLENNIUM SEXY BROOKLYN LADY HAIRCUT?
this is happening everywhere at a dive bar near you…
I see a lot of girls with this haircut in Montreal. To be honest, I quite like it. It takes guts to shave half your head when the other half is miles long. I look forward to seeing how they all graciously transition out of this haircut later. (Not in a mean way. Just in a generally curious way.)
I also really like it but I definitely think it’s a “right now” cut especially with bangs. I have had a few friend grow this in and usually because there is still a lot of hair on one side it’s really easy to cover up when it grows in or to have one of those fun asymmetrical cuts.
Somebody with time and skillz, please make a hipster haircut for her, complete with rat tail.
