Of course January Jones would name her child after the worst Buffy character.
Xander is awesome. Remember when he split himself into two Xanders? That was the best…
I love that I knew it was Xander based on your comment.
No, because then baby’s name would be “Dawn” or “Riley” or “Kennedy” or “Glory” or…
I don’t mind Dawn. Riley was terrible but had the decency to fuck off to South America after a couple of seasons/too many trips to the vampire crack den. Kennedy was lame, but was the least of season seven’s problems. And Glory was a decent villain. I rest my case!
As a non-Buffy fan; now hold on, stop yelling at me for a minute; as a non-Buffy fan, here’s the first Xander I thought of–
Adam Reed throwback? Anyone?
My only real issue with Xander was that he was so often an asshole to everyone, and no one ever called him on it. Remember the time he didn’t tell Buffy that Willow was going to do the soul restoration spell on Angel? And he told her to kick his ass instead? And then remember how it came up seasons later, but no one was mad at him about it?
Yeah, and remember the time that Riley was visiting vampire crack dens and Xander convinced Buffy that it was all her fault because she wouldn’t let him be a man? Great dude.
My one friend named her child after Xander. But, my other friend named HER child after Cordelia. I think I know who loves her child more.
Cordelia is awesome.
Grantland is great…Chuck Klosterman and Carles from Hipster Runoff are both regular contributors.
Tom Bissell’s stuff on Grantland has been absolutely phenomenal.
Ever wonder why you never see Gus Van Sant in the same room as Alan Thicke?
I always thought Gus Van Sandt was handsome!
Guys, we’re all missing the point because Gus Van Sant was on Entourage so everyone has seen him cause everyone loves Entourage!
Oh Todd Levin, I’m so glad you includid the Hip to Trip video. It was hilariously bad.
included…oh you got it.
Also, as for The New Girl. It WAS pretty awful. I felt like Zooey (love her as I do) was on a different show than everyone else.
Officer Leo (VMars forever!) was obnoxious.
Someone stole David Krumhotlz’s face and put it on some other guy so I kept expecting him to come up with some mathematical reason she got dumped.
And why were they calling one of their friends coach the whole time and why was coach always wearing weirdly strange clothes? Did the show not have a costume budget?
I don’t know I was really expecting more. I don’t know why I was, but I was. And this show didn’t have anything at all.
I kind of liked New Girl? I thought Zooey was one of the weaker aspects of the show, but I was entertained and I thought the supporting cast was good. It’s a pretty weak new TV season and the only other show that’s particularly interesting to me is Up All Night, so maybe it New Girl just seemed better due to low expectations or something.
no soapbox but that superficial write up was pretty harsh. who calls children bastards anymore? didn’t even know that was a term still being used in everyday language. did i miss something, is superficial always like that?
missed opportunity to make an emma frost/jon snow reference, i think we all still would have got it.
Xander?
