  1. The VMAs was this weekend?

  2. i think it’s because they heard a rumor that FARTMAN was making an appearance.

  3. Soo…more people watched the awards ceremony than the videos that the awards were made for? Sounds about right.

  4. People also like to look at car crashes as they drive by.

  5. I’ll let the milkman do the talking:

  6. Can we confidently say then that hurricane Irene, and the hundreds of thousands that were subsequently forced to remain inside and watch TV (including the VMAs), was the result of a MTV-led conspiracy?

    Check and Mate

  7. A friend asked if I’d watched the VMAs, which he should have known was a ridiculous question as A) I don’t have cable and B) ugh, who cares, it’s the VMAs. He seemed to enjoy Lady GaGa’s character. However, I’m of the opinion it’s a particularly low point in her series of stunt moves. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy select songs from her catalog, but come on, whatever she was doing that night was a bad Saturday Night Live performance at best. She also apparently ragged on herself as this character, which is so indulgent and thinly meta it makes me wanna barf. ‘Ugh, this Lady GaGa, am I right? Bada-bing, bada boom! What a LOSER, am I right KIDS?!’ Stop.

  8. People don’t seem to understand that their ironic viewing of something isn’t represented in the ratings, and just translates into actual ratings.

  9. Sadly, Jersey Shore netted a mere eight million viewers, and if that ain’t a tragedy, then Lysistrata’s a comedy. (Topical!)

  10. Gaga looked like a bad-ass from west side story
