Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of one of the best TV series ever, Gilmore Girls, no jokeo, maybe yes hyperbolo, is working on a Nanny Diaries adaptation for ABC. How good do you think it will be?

So a couple of nannies talking very, very fast. Got it.
One of them gets hooked on prescription drugs, another gets knocked up by the father of the baby she nannies for…
Wasn’t the last Amy Sherman-Palladino show supposed to be terrible? The one with Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose?
It’s on Hulu, and it’s an absolutely riveting train wreck. Worth watching just for the worst example of “sitcom character has a friggin’ enormous apartment” I can think of. I don’t care if you’re playing a powerful editor, Parker Posey, you basically live in a converted gymnasium.
It’s really horrible. But this one might not be!
She also was an executive producer on Veronica’s Closet…. let’s not forget that. Gilmore Girls is still great, as is Roseanne…. so basically this has a 50/50 shot of being any good.
Well, hopefully it will be good. I love Gilmore Girls to the point that I’ve seen pretty much every episode at least five times (not counting the last season which was terrible)!
A diary? I would never have even guessed that she’s literate.

Second day in a row I feel it’s appropriate to reference Gilmore Girls in a comment. Today it will be one of my favorite GG quotes:
“You cannot keep a room full of Anglo-Saxons waiting for cake this long – they start to form more clubs.”
Also, related to this actual post, I hope she turns this into some sort of spin-off where Rory’s half-sister GiGi is all grown up and becomes the nanny. And then Rory can make cameos (clear your entirely too busy schedule, Alexis Bledel) and marble-mouth her way through some lines.
Less related — has anybody seen the new brilliant Lifetime show, Dance Moms? As batshit-crazily amazing the dance teacher is, I keep wishing that Miss Patty were their overweight, brassy dance teacher instead.
hahaha, marble mouth.
I have seen one episode of Dance Moms and it is certainly crazy. I request a recap of at least one episode.
Depends on the casting. Because we all know who would be excellent with kids:

Make it happen, Hollywood.
Why is this actress not in more stuff? I loved so many of the characters on this show, and they just don’t seem to be in anything… Luke, Paris, Lane, Michele
I think they should have had a spin-off where Paris decides that she needs more life experiences before she can run for office, so she impulsively buys a cruise ship. Michel and Sookie are her two head staff members and they just sail around “Love Boat” style and have wacky adventures with guest star passengers. Also, they get shipwrecked like twice a season.
Lane’s band can be the cruise ship entertainment.
Remember when Paris went broke and had to be a server at one of Rory’s DAR events and then suddenly started quoting Marx and talking about the rights of the underclass? Brilliant.
Totally grabbing my Complete Series dollbox and watching piles of episodes when I get home tonight.
My other idea is to cast Lucille Bluth and Emily “Grandma” Gilmore in anything together. Literally anything.
I would watch the shit out of anything they are in. HOLLYWOOD, LISTEN UP.
I don’t understand the question and I won’t respond to it.
Check one for “great,” got it.
It will be great if by Nanny Diaries, you mean Gilmore Girls season 7 – the way it SHOULD have been.
When ABC Family began airing the final season of Gilmore Girls they were advertising it as a “NEW SEASON” coming to their channel. I almost had a heart attack and excitedly asked my friend Jon about it but then we realized it was just the last season, new to ABC Family. Ugh that was the worst moment of my life.
Whatever, Patrick. You’re such a Luke.
Wilson?
I never thought in a million years years I’d ever like and now LOVE and now also BE OBSESSED with the Gilmore Girls. So I guess I’ll give it a shot.
