Guys, two movies come out this weekend, both of which look pretty good but in very different ways: the adventure of Cowboys and Aliens and the romance of Crazy, Stupid, Love. We can only see one as a family, so which one? YOU BE THE BLOG! (Selected movie to be announced later today.)

  1. Aliens! I vote for Aliens! Cowboys too, I guess, but mostly the aliens!

  2. Crazy, Stupid, Love (because I’ll actually be back in the States, and I’ll be able to see it! My vote counts!)

  3. Cowboys and Aliens, because of all the Cowboys and Aliens

  4. There’s probably a love story element in Cowboys and Aliens. It may also be crazy and/or stupid. Conversely, there are probably no cowboys OR aliens in Crazy, Stupid, Love (though there appears to be an extra comma). So I’d kill two birds with one stone and see Cowboys and Aliens. Or kill two birds with whatever that thing is on Daniel Craig’s wrist.

  5. Are you judging based on which movie gets more comments or which comments get more thumbs up? I’M SO CONFUSED!

  6. CRAZY STUPID LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  7. Cowboys and Aliens. No duh no doy.

  8. Sorry guys, can’t participate this week. Working on my Crazy, Stupid Cowboys Love Aliens fanfic.

  9. I really don’t think I can handle another disappointing alien movie. I vote Crazy, Stupid Love… it has a much higher RT rating. (Although in all honesty, I will probably just see Another Earth)

  10. Is Jesse Eisenberg in either of these movies? Deciding factor.

  11. Uhhhhh… I’m going to have to go with Sexy Daniel Craig on this one. As much as I like RyGos, Sexy Daniel Craig kind of always trumps him.

    Defense rest, your honor.

  12. Attack the Block!

  13. At least we know exactly what we’re going to get in both movies, thanks to those titles! My vote is for Crazy, Stupid Love, because at least that one leaves a LITTLE more to the imagination.

  14. Based purely on my status as a Marissa Tomei fangirl, I’m voting for Crazy Stupid Love.

  15. The only good romantic comedy ever made has already been made, and that movie is 10 Things I Hate About You. So.. Cowboys and Aliens wins.

  16. Crazy Stupid Love gets my vote.

  17. Since I will be studying all weekend for the GRE, and therefore only seeing the inside of a library and/or coffee shop, I say Cowboys & Aliens. You guys can’t see Crazy Stupid Love without me, OK?!?

  18. Doesn’t matter to me. I won’t be able to attend as I will be at Facetaco and Dusky Panther’s birthday party.

    Happy birthday, you guys!

  19. More interested in the Cowboys than the Aliens but COWBOYS AND ALIENS OKAY

  20. the one with ryan gosling. obviously. total package he’s a babe and he’s a babe. done.

  21. I was already planning on going to see Cowboys and Aliens, and I was really excited (and maybe a little annoying?) to be able to contribute to the Harry Potter Movie Club.

“1 Manbaby for Cowboys and Aliens please!”

  22. Can’t we all agree now that both will be just awful and watch the delightful New York Times documentary instead? #nerdvote

  23. Can’t a compromise be found in this intractable situation? Wouldn’t it make sense, since there are two writers on this blog for Gabe to see one movie and Kelly to see the other. That’s how Canadians did it in the mid 90′s when deciding to see between Mission Impossible and Twister.

    Political Metaphors!!!!!

  24. Roger Ebert weighs in: “Cowboys & Aliens” has without any doubt the most cockamamie plot I’ve witnessed in many a moon.

Not sure if that makes me want to see it more or less yet…

  25. Crazy, Stupid Love, please! Cowboys & Aliens looks a little heady for me.

  26. I try not to see movies that have a good chance of making me cry in theaters(unless they have wizards), so Cowboys and Aliens. Also, Daniel Craig’s shoulders, which I suddenly can’t stop thinking about.

  27. Cowboys and Aliens looks crazy and stupid, and I love that. Clear winner.

  28. 1 ticket for Naked Rgos please.

  29. Crazy Stupid Love because I’m actually going to see this. Please?
