Some people in Maryland are putting together a zombie-themed 5K run because of course someone is doing that. From the official website:
Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies — and all parts awesome. [Ed. note: RELAX.]
Runners will navigate a series of 12 obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!
This whole thing is going to seem a lot less fun (and a lot fewer parts awesome) when one of the joggers just starts splitting zombie heads with a hand-axe. Yoops! Speaking of yoops: It costs $67 to have people in makeup chase you through the woods, sure. Got it. But it still costs $32 just to WATCH someone get chased through the woods by people in makeup? The local celebrities will be a little less exciting this year, now that Lil’ Sebastian is gone.
I know that this race is in Baltimore, and not in Pawnee, but it is important to know that Lil’ Sebastian is a local celebrity in all locales, because he a celebrity in all of our hearts.
