Remember when you had to take dance classes sometimes in grade school? For some reason? And it would be embarrassing and you wouldn’t know what you were doing and you always got paired up with a sweaty guy who creeped you out even though you were both very young, and you wished you could just have regular gym class so you could play crab soccer or with the parachute? I had these experiences roughly three years ago or so, so the pain it is still very fresh. And that pain is exactly what this video of two contestants in the 2011 National Jitterbug Championship calls to mind. A mix of that pain and of jealousy. And of entertainment. Pain + Jealousy + Entertainment, just like when I [some kind of a joke].
Haha, great video. Perfect dance. Perfect nerds. The worst part about this video is learning that they CAME IN FOURTH PLACE. Out of five! I can’t even imagine what the other contestants had to do to beat this. Sex stuff? With the judges? I’m sorry to get real here but that’s the only thing I can imagine the other contestants had to do to win when pit against this duo.
Other Contestant 1: I hear those two people are going to dress as the Mario Brothers and do a dance to the song from that game.
Other Contestant 2: Well. We talked about this.
And then they unzip their pants. I’m sorry! I don’t deicide reality, I just talk about it. (Via reddit.)

I don’t deicide reality.”
You don’t…kill gods? I guess that’s a good thing.
They are dancing because they can now marry each other in New York
Mario and Luigi are brothers. They can only marry each other in Arkansas!
I think Luigi is actually a woman in drag.
Straight or not, if either of them gets the flower power-up, they’re gonna be real flamers.
Whoa, The next Super Mario game is looking pretty… well, pretty much on course honestly.
i haven’t seen an audience go that crazy since “June from Kalamazoo” was asked to “come on down” on the price is right. that was 4 hours ago.
Does it ever seem that some people live their entire lives on the basis of what would make a good YouTube clip?
So this is one of those Mario Parties everyone keeps telling me about?
“Boooooooo!” – Everyone
Also, missed opportunity not using the invincibility star theme. Tailor MADE for the jitterbug (I think, what’s a jitterbug?).
I don’t know but I’m supposed to wake George Michael up before he go gos
“If I go down your pipe, will you let me win?” – other contestants
“You’d better wet your Warp Whistle first.” — some pervy judge with extreme knowledge of both double entendres and Super Mario.
Needs more Captain Lou Albano.
I love that this performance is melting the faces off the audience. They are literally going insane. I mean its not really my thing, and I guess there is a novelty element to it, but does it really warrant that reaction? (please don’t answer that)
When I was in elementary school, I played Mario in a short movie my friends and I made called, “The Mario Massacre”. The premise was that my friends were playing SMB, and when I (Mario) died in the game, I came into their world to exact revenge on them for killing me. It was pretty sloppy VHS videomaking, but the highlight was the sequence where I ate a dandelion while laughing maniacally, and then I threw a huge balled up wad of burning newspapers at them. I think the movie ended with one of them hitting me with a box turtle, but that sounds too clever to be right.
BMOAT
please, for the love of god, put this on youtube!
Godsauce, send it to Kelly for tomorrow’s VG. Ask your mom where it is. I’ll bet she saved it.
I don’t know… as Mario and Luigi dancing videos go, it’s ok. But I will always prefer this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwrUAWuP6Xw
Guy at the end is Ricky Gervaise in high school
“It’s a-ME!”
“Let’s a-go!”
“Here we go!”
“Oh no!”
“Welcome to Mario Kart!”
“Okey dokey!”
Now that we’ve all got his voice in our head, try and picture him saying “sonuva bitch!”
My sister once tried to affect a Russian accent while saying ‘son of a bitch’. The result was a terrible Russian accent, but a perfect Mario accent. “SonOVabitch,” with a higher pitch put on the ‘OV’, is an unofficial Mario quote for me.
One would probably need to actually hear the way my sister said it to know exactly what I’m talking about, but the only way I can describe it is say ‘son of a bitch’ in your best Russian accent, then filter it through your best Mario voice. I think you’ll come close.
I went to high school with one of those dancers. Luigi, I think. So, okay.
