Showrunner Frank Darabont has stepped down in the middle of filming the second season of The Walking Dead. Remember when he unceremoniously fired all the writers last year? That guy just seems like fun to work with!

  1. Darabont usually seems like a pretty animated guy, but this is kind of a mindless decision. I’d love to pick his brains about it.

Meh, I guess it’s not the end of the world.

  2. I’m beginning to think this show would be more interesting if they gave the writers different ninja weapons and filmed them going to town on each other. Darabont in the break room with the fighting fan.

  3. With all the upheaval and malarkey going on behind scenes, I am fairly confident that The Walking Dead will end up a buddy comedy by the end of season 2. Grimes is a little fastidious, zombies are a little messy – it’s the original odd couple!

  4. I think my favorite thing about this post is that nobody has ANYTHING to say about it.

I was here an hour ago and was like, “Hmm. Well, I could write… Mmm. no. Um, how about a clever play on word’s with some of Darabont’s body of, uh… Hunh. Nope. *SIGH* I got nothing. I have absolutely nothing. Moving on…”

  5. Well, as we all know, the only way to kill a zombie show is to remove its head.

  6. So much for the optimism that this show would gain it’s stride/find it’s place/whatever showbiz people call it for when a show goes from sucking to not sucking in season 2, but this re-affirms my secret fear that it will probably be more of the same drawn out, horribly written silliness.
