March 18th is special for many reasons. As the day after St. Patrick’s Day, it’s historically remembered as the day St. Patrick finished chasing snakes out of Ireland and finally put up all those snake fences he’d been promising. But don’t forget: March 18th is also the birthday of Ms. Dana Elaine Owens, better known to the world as Queen Latifah. In honor of the occasion, our own Steven Davis recorded a special birthday tribute.

Wow! That is a giant Brad Dourif. Apologies all around.
TWBDS
There goes my Brad Dourif quota for the month.
Hey! Today is also my boyfriend’s birthday! What an odd coincidence! Actually, come to think of it, I’ve never seen Queen Latifah and my boyfriend in the same room…
I have real trouble not imagining your boyfriend being your avatar.
No, my boyfriend is Jean Grey brandishing a floret of broccoli.
Hawt.
If you murder Queen Latifah, is it still considered regicide? Asking for a friend.
You have selected “regicide”. If you know that name of the King or Queen being murdered, press “1″ now.
If you’d like to go back in time and proofread your comment, press “2″ now.
Comedy waits for no proofreading!
She inspired me to be in CoverGirl commercials.
Easy, breezy, dusky, CoverGirl!

One year at the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, Queen Latifah was the Queen of the Parade and at the conclusion of the parade she led a big procession to the beach and stuck a big cardboard key into the Atlantic Ocean and turned it thereby officially opening the beach for the summer.
Anyway, I guess my point is I was within 70 feet of her, you guys.
It’s also Dane Cook’s Birthday today. Oh look, Kevin Costner bought him a birthday shovel:

“You know when you’re like bleeding from the neck and you’re all like bluwahhhh because you’re bleeding everywhere? You know, because he cut my carotid ar-ter-y? That’s what I say, I say ar-ter-y, because I put a little flair on it.”
“All hail my beautiful bride on her special day!”

AWWWW YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s celebrating today!

Presented without comment… or, literally, any discernible explanation at all.
I love this photo because it’s like what would happen if Pierre et Giles were born in Indiana and both got jobs at a Kmart photo studio.
Full disclosure: When I was really young, I was confused and legitimately thought Queen Latifah was an actual queen. I just thought it was really cool that she was so down to earth about it, rapping and gracing films with her presence in minor roles. One time I asked my mom what she was the queen of and she laughed for about an hour.
I love that story!
That’s pretty freaking cute. I’m laughing both at AND with you.
“When I was really young, I was confused”
I totally thought that story was going in a different direction.
Ooh, I have a Queen Latifah story to share, which is that one time I accidentally watched the entirety of “Mad Money.”
I do not know Queen Latifah but I do know Sarah Silverman & she probably knows Queen Latifah. Naaaaame Drrrrrrroooooooooop Frrrridaaaays
I do love this.
