Colorado State University has put out a call for scholarly essays about Friday Night Lights to be collected in a book. Great. Hopefully one of the eggheads up at Egghead U explores the suggested subject of the show’s “homosociality” (also, what?) to discuss how Lacan’s mirror stage determines the universal signifier of how is Tim Riggins still a senior?

i think i’ll write one about issues of masculinity within the show, with an emphasis on the characters’ places in the patriarchal environment where if jason shows up next episode with a baby i will punch the baby in the throat, i swear i will.
