Someone has been patient enough to explain the lyrics of a Brokencyde song for old people. Example: “I thought you loved me/you never gave a fuck” means “playing with his emotions.” Neat!

Ok, but I’m still holding out for Brokencyde: Unplugged.
Agreed. Life support is too good for them.
FLW FTW!
Still waiting for someone to explain, “…if there’s a bustle in your hedgerow..” to me.
Robert Plant did a lot of drugs
its all hobbit shit, led zepplin lyrics
I didn’t know Hobbits did so much fucking.
remember the horny midget in the movie Foul Play who wanted to bone Goldie Hawn? Gross
you should see what Dora the Explorer is into, sheesh!
I hate this. The beautiful thing about Brokencyde’s art is that their lyrics are open to interpretation. It can mean something different for everybody. When you try to explain it, you take away its immense power.
Perfect. Now if you can just provide me with an explanation of these other things, I think we’ll be able to finally communicate on an even level:
- What is a Brokencyde?
- What is a webpage?
- What is rap?
- Why don’t my grandkids ever visit?
Thanks,
An Old Person
RapGenius indeed!
I read that as RapeGenius. The Hunt is conditioning me in some pretty regrettable ways.
Brokensplice
or BrokeNsplyse or whatever the fuck.
can someone explain the lyrics to this little number:
“Oh oh oh oh AH!
I just died in your arms tonight
Must have been some kind of kid
I coulda walked away, I shoulda walked away”
Who was the kid referenced?
*Son of Gabe, ask your parents.
Don’t Play
I spent most of Monday looking for the Ultimate John Cena fan video but had no idea what it was called. Then I found it and I was happy. Then I found this comment and it contributed to my smiles.
Presented without commentary.

I don’t know why I didn’t crop out all that empty white space.
I would say that it loses something in the translation, but what’s less than nothing? Besides the name of my new screamo band, of course.
Then I hope you don’t mind:

Songmeanings.net has a different take on this. Apparently it is actually about suicide and how I might be a lesbian.
Well I can see myself getting lost in rapgenius.com for at least the rest of the week.
The project to decrypt Weezer lyrics is still in progress. No ETA has been provided.
The weird thing is: Rivers Cuomo is doing it himself.
I heard that he and Anthony Kiedis went swapsies on lyric decryption projects.
“And then you say your sad, lost everything you had
Still everyday your always taking life from me”
(She’s making him listen to Brokencyde)
Brokencyde wouldn’t know the different between your and you’re
Based on multiple postings this week, neither does Frank Lloyd Wrong.
It’s part of the irretrievable metaphor, IAN.
I just recovered from laughing uncontrollably at this one:
Lyrics:
Send me to another place we hear
Any place, I dont care
Explanation:
Maybe heaven
Please tell me that one of you Monsters did that! PLEASE!
No, but I just registered an account there.
Lyric: Life
“You spelled ‘lyfe’ wrong” – PP
oh, you. this made me nearly blow my cover at work (pretending I’m working)
This is the one that made me lose it.
Lyrics:
And I think that all the pain was gone
And that I wouldn’t be here but another day goes on
Explanation:
Instead of suicide he continues life and by 2009 (their debut album) he’s a party animal with barely any more sad feelings, and by 2010 (sophomore album), he’s totally happy again… good thing you didn’t give up Sev!
Yeah GOOD THING YOU DIDN’T GIVE UP, GUY! Glad you’re happy making the rest of the world unhappy!
Wait…I get it now. Teacherman’s AP English students must be doing this as their class project of interpreting modern “poetry”.
Holy shit, I had no idea they were actually using English words!

Truth, as a hip hop appreciator/ sheltered person I have found rapgenius.com to be helpful sometimes! It’s the urban dictionary of rap songs, things you secretly want explained but are too scared to ask in person.
Like how I had to ask what a Hollaback Girl was, on account of me being 800 years old?
You can’t say “skeet skeet” on the radio!
I had to have skeet explained to me once, urban dictionary is a god send for people like me. I looked up ‘fap’ last week, gross.
I strongly encourage everyone to take a look at the entry for Soulja Boy’s “Crank That”. Here is an excerpt:
Oh dear god…
FACT: Soulja Boy loves homages.
you guys ever read the snacks and shit blog? snacksandshit.com
Conspicuously absent is an explanation for Brokencyde itself.
