I just want to use this Monster’s Ball as an opportunity to say how much I love this site and all y’all monsters.
Twice in the past week I’ve been on other websites (I know, websites other than Videogum… weird, right?) and saw great comments and thought, “I must upvote this!”
I’ve been reading a long time, although I’m a relatively new commenter, and (not to sound like I’m fishing for anything) every upvote I get feels like I’m high-fiving a million angels.
Wavelengths, my friend. Same wavelengths.
So much word. I am brand new to this too. I have been reading Videogum for a long, long time (I have a Monster in my family) and only started commenting last week.
For some reason I am more bashful on the internet than in real life. But to have a chance to be part of the conversation is a great joy that I don’t take for granted.

I’m pretty quiet in real life, but I always feel weird trying to jump into a site’s comments, especially one that has so many in-jokes and so many prolific and hilarious commenters. It kind of feels like I’m trying to worm my way into a clique. But so far no monster has made me feel unwelcome, and that’s why this site is the best.
Also, I’m on the west coast, and my workplace blocks Videogum and most of the other sites I comment on, so I’m always late to the party and I sometimes feel, “What’s the point? No one will ever read my comments.” So the upvotes are a nice way of seeing that someone out there has read what I have to say.
I am in the same boat as you guys. Long time reader but never commented. I recently have been joining in the vgchat and everyone has been so nice and funny! Because of my different time zone I am usually late to commenting as well. Especially on the Thursday Night Shows thread which is my favorite subject!!
