We have already fixed one poster for Mel Gibson’s The Beaver, but our work is never done. The last poster was ridiculous, yes, but we fixed it. Now, though, the movie has a new poster, and wouldn’t you know it, this one needs fixing, too. I mean, ARE THEY KIDDING WITH THIS THING? Mel Gibson sitting on a stoop in his Red Wing chukka boots with his head down looking VERY serious while wearing that ridiculous BEAVER PUPPET under a punishing black sky out in Thinking Man’s Woods, and it’s just like, OH COME ON. I mean, this would be hilarious and ridiculous even if the dude wasn’t a holocaust denying blowjob monster. It’s a movie about a man who wears a beaver puppet on his hand! HOW ABOUT A LITTLE SELF-AWARE LEVITY WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR MOVIE BEING A JOKE? Sorry, director Jodie Foster, but this isn’t Leaving Las Vegas, or something. You are not plumbing the depths of mental illness’s untold story. The movie was originally supposed to star Steve Carrell for heaven’s sake. TAKE IT EASY.
