Just trying to get the word out there. Hate to see things like this go unanswered. (Via TheHighDefinite.)

  1. Answers to “WAAAAAAAAAAAALT!!!!!!!”

  2. Can someone show me how to downvote Gabe’s comments?

  3. Now that James Franco is finally hosting the Oscars, the return of Lost is the sole remaining thing on my wish list.

  4. That’s a really pretty street, what I can appreciate things too sometimes

  5. Donna Darko

  6. “Meh. It’s better than the umpteenth ‘Dan Smith Will Teach You Guitar’ flyer.” — Telephone Pole

  7. For all my complaints about the ending…I would welcome Lost back in a heartbeat.

  8. LOST should have been canceled earlier when it was a mystery / sci-fi show before it got even worse than it was originally.

If we are going to bring back a tv show lets start with Arrested Development, The Wire and Deadwood. I miss Deadwood so bad I’ve been drinking bourbon alone watching it over and over again. Al Swearengen is my only friend.

  9. I never watched Lost, but I knew enough about the characters. plot, etc. to get by. I did catch a few of the later episodes aired on ABC, and they had a scrolling bar at the bottom, explaining everything that was going on. Like, “Hurley is happy to see this guy cause he’s dead somewhere else but not really.” I felt if that accompanied every episode, I would have liked it more…

  10. Instead of reading: “Someone seriously needs to bring it back.”

I think they meant: “WE HAVE TO GO BACK!”

  11. “You can let go now.” -Rose, to this flier

  12. what I’m trying to say is they should have kept it sci fi and mysterious rather than mystical and corn ball

    • I always thought the dialogue was mediocre…but I sometimes think the same thing about Dexter (which I love)

      • 6 seasons x 20 episodes per season x 45 minutes per episode = a lot of fucking dialogue. Its hard to be witty and creative for that long. I vote to give the writers a pass.
        Also, Dexter. F’sho.

        • My precious time x the inability to get that time back x all the better tv shows that were consistently good = you are being a little too charitable with my time, “yeah calendar!” guy, aka person I dont know

    • I agree Winwood, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was one of the best, innovative, and influential shows of the past 25 years.

      • no you’re wrong it does change that and it was not one of the best innovative or influential shows of the past 25 years or any years for that matter. what shows did it influence? jersey shore? what did it innovate, new ways of annoying me and pissing me off? I say: no.

        • In the 6 seasons it was on the air, Lost explored the human condition and all the complexities it entails–violence, religion, guilt, difference–in a far more ambitious way than almost any show during this period. It had many, many flaws, but it was both entertaining, engaging, and gripping–through its sci-fi elements–while only sometimes losing sight of the humanity it was trying to convey through the survivors.
I dare you to name one of the important characters from Lost that was cartoonish or lacked subtlety (NOT EVEN KATE) and even when the ridiculousness of the plot seemed to push the show to the brink, it still kept us thinking existentially. It may not be as good as Deadwood or The Wire or Mad Men, but it does not deserve your petty denigration. GOODAY SIR!

    • I agree. Yay five bajillion hour finales I hated!!

  13. like the business with the hatch and the dharma (sp?) initiative and all the weird sci-fi stuff they were alluding to but kept just beyond reach so it retained a mysterious allure that made you crave more while at the same time constantly “moving the goal posts” so to speak so that you kept hoping the itch will be scratched but it just lead to deeper itches (ewww gross) and so on and so forth. the flash backs and stuff about the back story implied there was some “there” there when there wasnt it was just flat insipid hollywood tv hack writing and the acting was flat and boring. what I’m trying to say is, I didnt like this program but I could have and there are very few shows that I “could” have liked. Gabe is still wrong.

  14. I really enjoyed Lost for the first 2.5 seasons, then gave up. I started watching again for the last season because I sought some sort of closure and also because Gabe’s recaps were hilarious, and we all know the disappointment that turned out to be. As that finale drew near, there was a collective desperation, as the more we watched, the more we hated the show (and ourselves by extension for continuing the process), the more we desperately needed to see how it would end. But the funny thing is, as The Walking Dead veers farther and farther off course, I find myself longing for the Glory Daze of Lost, thinking from time to time, “These guys could really use a Sawyer for the group dynamic”. Perspective’s a funny thing.

  15. This poster depicts my feelings exactly, and I haven’t even finished watching the series yet! (I’m just about to start Season 4. Jealous?)

  16. It went to Hawaii

  17. I wonder what Steve Winwood thinks about Lost. I guess that will just be one of those mysteries the universe never answers.

  18. The movie is very uneven. Effects range from good to downright crap. Performances are all over the place and it doesn’t seem to know who’s actually the lead character. I like the TV show too. So, yes the movie is definitely a let down. It has a great film score though. I’ll give ‘em that.
