“We’re reading the script right now. I don’t want to give it away because that wouldn’t be tight, but it’s set in the future and it’s about a journey.” (Jaden Smith on M. Night Shyamalan’s One Thousand A.E.)

  2. I think he means so far in the future that it comes back full circle

  3. Who is we? Is Justin Bieber just playing b-ball with Jaden and during water breaks going over scripts?

  4. One day Shyamalamadingdong is going to make a fucking amazing movie, and you’re all gonna realize that was the big twist this has all been leading up to. Just wait and see!

    • Part of me thinks that is his masterful plan, after Unbreakable was kind of ‘meh.’ Movie after movie our expectations are being lowered, and BLAMMO, soon our eyes will melt collectively due to the superfantasticawesome film he has in the pipeline!!

Or, they would melt that is, if anyone was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see his movies. Mr. Shamalan, I fear that I learned my lesson after Lady in the Water. Consider my once bitten (by a bad movie), twice shy (of seeing future bad movies)

  5. The twist is that it was actually in the past and no one went anywhere.

  6. 1000AD? About a journey? This guys knows what you’re talking about:

    • M Night: “The twist of my new movie is that Alison Pill is actually a huge movie star, and always has been because why would that not be true.”

      rajma: “I forgive you.”

  7. To be fair, this is the same thing he said about his sister’s song.

  8. But it’s “One Thousand A.E.”, not A.D. Does this ruin the joke? I say no! Still a great quote.

    • Hey now, don’t ruin the joke. That’s SO not tight.

      OR!

Have you just uncovered the twist?! Looks like the future, but it’s really… the past?

I mean, we’d be talking a twist of a recycled twist (from The Village), and if the filmgoing public wasn’t ready for The Last Airbender, how can we begin to understand the Resurrected Double Twist*?

*I made that up just now. Just put the check in the mail, M. Night. You’re welcome.

  9. And here’s the twist.

  10. Well, I guess this IS about due for a remake.

  11. I only care about Smiths with whippable hair. (That’s most definitely a word.) Jaden, you have been upstaged.

  12. Other things that will be featured in this movie: actors, dialogue, and dramatic panning shots. No spoilero.

  13. You know, this kid is a pro. He managed to say something about a Shyamalan script without using “awful,” “wretched,” “asinine,” “derp-a-derp-derp,” “seriously, I was tempted to set myself on fire rather than read one more word of this half-baked tripe,” and “TWIST!!!1!” Diplomatically played, young Mr. Smith.

    • Maybe he’ll just wait 2 years like Mark Wahlberg
” “We had actually had the luxury of having lunch before to talk about another movie, and it was a really bad movie that I did. She dodged the bullet. And then I was still able to … I don’t want to tell you what movie … alright, The Happening. Fuck it. It is what it is. Fucking trees, man. The plants. Fuck it. You can’t blame me for not wanting to try to play a science teacher. At least I wasn’t playing a cop or a crook.”

  14. Since he’s being raised a Scientologsit maybe he thinks 1000 A.D. is actually 1000 years after Battlefield Earth was published.

  15. Since he’s being raised a Scientologist maybe he thinks 1000 A.D. is actually 1000 years after Battlefield Earth was published.

  16. Sorry about the double post!

  17. It’s the future, people. Flick your pylon back and forth.

  18. Allow me to translate. “We’re reading the script right now [I am sitting by my pool with Selena Gomez not reading the script]. I don’t want to give it away because that wouldn’t be tight [I didn't read it], but it’s set in the future and it’s about a journey. [I can only assume and anyway I need to cut this short because Joe Jonas is totes about to do a canonball.]”

  19. Jaden Smith plays the assistant to Dolph Lundgren, a half human/half dog that can smell crime. Dolph nails a hot woman/solves a crime/nails a hot woman/solves a crime for 90 minutes.

  20. I know this is SOOOO late, but …. The Last HairWhipper?
