This movie is why all of the studios should go bankrupt… This and Battleship, the Movie.

I think they’ve been holding off on this as long as they have because the special effects just weren’t there to accurately capture Billy’s dotted line paths.
Sounds like the found the right guys for sure. This basically sounds like a Family CIrcus strip:

I think this premise, in the proper hands, could be a REALLY GOOD movie. No sarcasmo.
agreed. maybe a director capable of taking such a premise and turning what was meant to be a humorous concept into some kind of tense thriller? just throwing ideas out.
I can promise that if this was a pitched to a studio exec, by the time the rewrites were done, we’d just have another Dumb & Dumber sequel because THAT’S WHAT AMERICA WANTS.

I am more concerned about the person who wrote that article, and the fact that they specifically chose to put in two comics that involve Jeffy not wearing pants. That’s a perfectly normal move, and not at all unusual or creepy!

I hope they keep the circle framing of the original. Maybe at the end, they could reveal that the whole movie was being viewed through a telescope? Just an idea!

One time Batman & Robin were on TV and Jeffy called them “Baskin & Robbin.” I’ve used that mistaken identification interchangeably when referring to either the ice cream parlors or the comic book characters to great comic effect. Thank you Family Circus.

My god, I’m afraid Videogum is going to collapse from the gravity of everyone trying to riff on the same tepid, overly-well-tread humor territory this strip has been sucking dry for the last million years.
