We should all be so lucky as to be deaf at a Black Eyed Peas concern in this world. (Via Urlesque.)

I look forward to the sign language version of “Rape Me” at the posthumous Nirvana concert
If you ever go to a Björk concert, I’d suggest watching the interpreter and deaf kids during “It’s Oh So Quiet”.
One way ticket to hell, please.
Why are all those people clapping? They can’t see this woman from the way they are facing.
Somehow, it was more articulate and well-written than the original.
My favorite thing is the emotions in her face, particularly inquisitive face she puts on at “What you gonna do with all that junk” and the ‘Ah ha, I shall tell you!’ face she puts on right after that for “I’mma get get you drunk”
Do you think she has been rehearsing this, patiently waiting for her moment?
like 70% of Sign language is expression in the face. It lets you convey emotion, urgency and tone.
Not to be Professor Ignorant over here BUT do deaf people go to concerts?
Yes, they do. Some people may be hard of hearing, but even someone who is completely deaf can feel the vibrations with their body.
All jokes about how terrible the Black Eyed Peas aside, I think that this is really cool.
What’s really cool to me is that people sign-sing differently than they sign-speak. There’s a lot more expression in the body and face to really get the sense of the feeling of the song, as much as the words. I mean, I don’t know all the words to My Humps. I don’t know if it matters if a deaf person does either. But they get the sense of the silliness of the song, which is what’s most important.
This is my favorite sign-interpreted Black Eyed Peas song (of two, now, I suppose): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCZkQ_s-Bdk
Deaf people feel the bass. And well, the black eyed peas have alot of that, if not much else. They also like to party (cause they are people too).
They can still see Fergie pee herself, and that’s more entertaining than the music
To be fair, deaf people love The Black Eyed Peas.
I’m glad somebody does
I’d like to pretend that the whole audience was deaf…because the thought that that many people like The Black Eyed Peas makes me wish 2012 would come sooner.
Looks like George Costanza got himself a prime seat at the show!
I am super old…
I think we’ve found our fifth member!
They could cut their overhead costs by just making Taboo do that. At least then he’d have something to do.
Professor Black Eyed Peas over here!
This baby’s proof that the Apl De Ap doesn’t fall far from the tree.
In fairness, Taboo may or may not be a record-setting Olympic speed skater.

Good thing she didn’t attempt to interpret “Let’s Get Retarded.”
I like the fact the people filming this are more interested in the sign language than the actual concert…which they paid money to attend.
That’s what I was thinking until I saw that it’s at Bumbershoot, so they could have just been killing time waiting for Bob Dylan to come on. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
But isn’t that concert not until September? Is this video from the future???
maybe one of my favorite signing a song videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmKnQjBf8wM
(spoiler alert, it’s “Party in the USA” and it’s adorable.)
That guy is definitely our boyfriend
With those moves? He is definitely my boyfriend.
yep! (are we going to jail now? hard to tell.)
My new boyfriend has displaced my PREVIOUS favorite signing video, “Remix to Ignition”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glIFyl-Y__4
(which is still so good.)
This is unrelated, but is anyone else getting tired of seeing this guy?
?
The only thing this guy needs to shave off is a few pounds.
BONG!
You LITERALLY just made me choke-laugh on my apple.
If I made this joke I’d be crucified.
Caparulo? More like Craparulo, amirite?
And yeah, Anti-irritation zone? Pick a less annoying comedian, ad, etc…
i think the most hilarious/depressing moment of the vid was the applause at the end of the song
If i were a hipster interpreter, I’d ironically sign the shit out of the show
This lady is solid. But not nearly as good this particularly Chicago gal. She insanely awesome. Doesn’t know the lyrics? She just dances. It’s the best.
The single greatest thing I’ve ever seen was the sign-language interpreter at a small-town gay pride celebration a few years ago, signing and miming along to a song whose entire, repetitive lyrics went: “Pussy chugger, I’m chugging on your pussy.” She was a huge, sassy lady and put a lot of backbone into it. Alas, she set the bar pretty high.
You haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen a sign language interpreter do “My Neck, My Back”.
Or, possibly, “Smell Yo Dick.”
She’s ruining the deaf experience of Black Eyed Pee-Pants
Someone has to make sure that even deaf people are subjected to the garbage that is Black Eyed Peas.
I took a level one sign language class so when I was at a Indigo Concert (gay) I could sign to the adorable gay signing interpreter. Basically I signed “Good work!” and he signed back “Thank you so much something something something I forgot this song something something something” and I nodded and smiled and wished I had taken a level two sign language class.
Yeah!! I was there to watch the performance live from my eyes. I must say that his performance has really stolen my heart. Hats off to this guy!!
Superstar Smile
In 4th grade at summer camp I learned how to sign “That’s What Friends Are For” by Dionnne Warwick. Real talk.
WHen did Tim Heidecker start performing sign language?
