This has been around for a while but it’s the most interesting thing I’ve seen today: a pelican in a London park eating a pigeon that just won’t give up. I was riveted:
Thanks to the tipster who sent us that. That two minute video was more suspenseful than the Kate Hudson/Matthew McConaughey romantic adventure Fools Gold. Which, as a total public service and apropos of nothing, I beg you not to try to watch.

Just go to about 1:10 to see Shamu eat a pelican.
After that, there’s trainers swimming around collecting pelican chunks, as well as Shamu feeding pelican to seagulls to lure them over so he can eat them too. I never knew I hated pelicans until today.
After seeing that video, Pelicans just made my top 10 list of “Scariest Animals Ever.” right between Ostriches and Paris Hilton *ZING!*
The evil hungry beast that is the pelican should’ve just given up. No snack is worth that much attempted swallowing.
