Everyone I know is talking about Spaced, the British surreal comedy series by the creators of Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz that aired on Channel 4 in 1999 and 2001 and is about to get an American DVD release. I’m waiting to watch the series in order, but friends who’ve seen it describe it as “funny” and “stoner-comedy.” Here’s a preview:

In honor of the DVD release, BBC America is showing six episodes curated by the stars and director on Sunday starting at 3pm, and the entire series every night for seven nights starting Monday at 3 am. Please please please let this show be as good as it’s supposed to be. I haven’t laughed at something intentional on TV in weeks. (Unless the extraordinary nutsack counts.)

OH GOD, this show is so good. it’s creepy and ridiculous and mean and a little adorable, even. It hits all the right spots at all the right times. You’re going to love it.

It is funny and it damn well should have lasted longer. Great cast. My favorite episode is “Ends” (episode 7 of season 1) in which they do a hilarious parody of the fighting video game ‘Tekken 2′.

  3. i love simon pegg, so this better not disappoint.

  4. This show is truly awesome. In addition to the usual stellar quality work from Pegg/Frost/Wright, the supporting cast is phenomenal.
    Viva Marsha!

  5. This show could never disappoint anyone. I’ve had shitty quality dvd rips of all the episodes on my IPod for about 4 years now…and they still make me lose my shit with laughter every time I watch them

Can’t wait to get an honest to god DVD of it.
