Every Tyler Perry movie is a horror movie, duh.

I thought Couples Retreat was already a horror movie
I watched with no sound, and it just seems like really intense couples therapy. “ONE OF THESE COUPLES… WILL. NOT. MAKE. IT.” 1/3 marriages ending in divorce is better than the national average.
Is nobody more worried about the confusing grammar of the title? “Why didn’t I not have married, also?” That’s better.
A better question: Can they possibly come up with a more bananas trailer for the sequel to this?
I’ll answer that myself: Nope. Probably not.

I think I need like Steven Soderbergh to stunt-cast Tyler Perry in something for me to even begin to understand his whole ?uvre.
Maybe the first step is to stop with the ligatures?
I can’t wait until “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married (Too?) Four?” when only one of the original four couples is still together to go on their annual retreat, which they continue to do even though the previous three retreats each ended with ONE. COUPLE. NOT. MAKING. IT.
Or will Mr. Perry decide to go in the opposite direction, increasing the number of couples with each sequel, and likewise increasing the number of couples that DO. NOT. MAKE. IT.?
Or perhaps Mr. Perry will shock us all by turning four couples into a quadruple, a triple, and a single!
You just never know when you’re dealing with such an auteur.
Maybe this time the scandal will be UK distribution companies photoshopping white couples INTO the poster.
