Jimmy Kimmel Live’s long-running bit, The Week In Unnecessary Censorship is such a part of our culture at this point that it’s the second Google result for the word “unnecessary.” And kids’ shows, for obvious reasons, are especially funny/disturbing when needlessly censored. On Friday, Jimmy paid tribute to Unnecessary Censorship all-star Sesame Street with a special “Come And Play Edition” of the segment:
While it’s amusing to imagine a parental watchdog group making a confused attempt to go after Kimmel for this, it’s also just so totally extra-wrong that it’s hard to believe it was actually on TV.
