Joe Mande found this commercial for urinary catheters in which a lovely Southern lady named Holly who could easily have replaced Jean Smart on Designing Women tells the story of how she got over her fear of calling strangers and no longer has to re-use the same urinary catheters over and over. Also, no more UTIs, TMI Holly, TMI!:

Ahhh, so many questions! Why does she have to use a catheter every day? Does she put it in herself? Is it a normal part of getting old that nobody’s told us about yet? I agree with Joe that “cath” is a great new verb that I can’t wait to work into regular conversation, but otherwise commercials like this just remind me of the slow march towards death.

  1. “Cath’ Yourself” is the new “Kill Yourself.”

  2. I like that they offer to provide you with “FREE Catheter samples”

  3. Cath’ing’ is not for whimps!

yep..do it myself..at home…with no supervision. Grew up in Nashville Tennessee..so I guess I have that Southern Thang going on.

Getting old isn’t fun… nope..but it beats the alternative! :)
